Appliance Fuel Connector - assembly of listed semi-rigid or exible tubing and
ttings to carry fuel bet. a fuel-piping outlet and a fuel burning appliance
Fuel Gas- atural! manufactured! li"ueed petroleum or a mixture of these
Gas #iping- any installation of pipe! $al$es! or ttings that is used to con$ey fuel
gas! installed on any premises or in any but shall not include%
&any portion of the ser$ice piping
&any appro$ed piping connection six feet '1!8()mm* or less in length
bet+een an existing gas
outlet and a gas appliance in the same room +ith the outlet
Gas #iping ,ystem- any arrangement of gas piping supplied by one meter and each
arrangement of gas piping ser$ing a building! structure! or premises! +hether
indi$idually metered or not
,er$ice #iping- he piping and e"uipment bet+een the street gas main and the gas
piping system inlet that is installed by and is under the control and maintenance of
the ser$ing gas supplier
ransition Gas iser- any listed or appro$ed section or sections of pipe and ttings
used to con$ey fuel gas and installed in a gas piping system for the purpose of
pro$iding a transition from belo+ the ground to abo$e the ground
/arth"ua0e actuated Gas ,huto 2al$e- a $al$e to be installed in a gas piping
system designed to automoatically shut o the gas +hen a seismic disturbance is
detected
Copper and brass pipe shall not be used if the gas contains more than an a$erage of

remote outlet and the load of the section
