people place prosperity

“The Community Foundation has been an important resource to me and many of my estate planning clients. In situations both complex and simple, I know that the staff will guide us toward the smartest way to make a gift or create a legacy. I count on their experience and expertise and can trust them to advise my clients with integrity.”

PROFESSIONAL ADVISORS

Partnership - You can consider us part of your extended team, working with you in any way you choose to help you serve your clients. We develop personalized solutions, confidentially and without a fee.

Expertise - Studies show that clients expect to discuss giving with their trusted advisors. We can bolster those conversations. Our knowledge and experience encompasses all aspects of charitable giving, including complex gifts, vehicles for giving and the impact of philanthropy on tax planning, retirement or the sale of a business.

Networking and education - An annual professional seminar with continuing education credit, informal “lunch and learns” and an e-newsletter exclusively for professional advisors keeps you informed and connected.

Focus - Philanthropy is our only business. Our goal is to help your clients give in the way that works best for them, their family, their assets and their legacy.

Individual attention - We start by listening. We learn about your clients’ needs, interests and motivations, then work with them to develop a customized charitable plan.

Options - Through the Foundation, donors can support the full range of their charitable interests in a fund structured to achieve their current and future goals.

Efficiency - It’s easy to establish a fund, recommend grants and assess giving over time. We handle the administrative tasks, including IRS reporting and grant research.

Tax advantages - Because CFWNC is a public charity, donors receive maximum tax deductions for their contributions.

Sound investing - Funds grow through diversified investments; stewardship is ensured by the oversight of CFWNC’s Investment Committee, made up of seasoned investment advisors. In some instances, existing investment advisors may continue to manage charitable assets.

We’re local - We place great value on getting to know our donors and creating customized approaches to giving. Our regional knowledge is grounded in experience and shared on request. Your clients always have access to staff members who can best serve them.

We have fewer requirements - A donor advised fund can be established with an initial gift of $10,000. There is no minimum pay-out, grants can be made to any qualified charity and family members across generations can be involved.

We’re more flexible than a private foundation - With a fund at CFWNC, there are no startup costs, excise taxes on investments or administrative burdens. Your clients focus on giving; we take care of everything else.

We can meet with you or others in your firm to discuss how CFWNC can help you serve your clients. When you have clients who could benefit from a relationship with us, we can meet with you and them together or directly with them.
