About Using Job Boards• Most jobs do not get posted to job boards

– In general for an active job search, networking, personal brand management activities, and research should account for more of your time and energy than job boards.

• Follow up on your applications

– Job board applications are no different than applying directly to a company, following up on your application is important.

• Follow any and all instructions provided in job listings!

• Employers use software to screen your resumes– Try to tailor your resume and cover letter to match any keywords provided in the job

listing.

– Use simple formatting conventions and avoid non-standard fonts and decorative touches
