Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more and
more like your Creator, and you will understand him better. (Col 3:10 – CEV)
Dear Camper,
We are so excited that you have registered for Summer Camp
this year! We are going to have so much fun with lot of
activities, choice time options, and so many ways to help you
grow in your faith. This year we are talking about putting on a
New Self. We will be looking closely at the life of the Apostle
Paul who experienced an incredible change in his faith and
discover how to put on a New Self in Christ.
Below are a few details we want you to know about for your
specific week of camp.

Information Regarding Covid-19
We are blessed to have you be a part of our summer camp ministry at Camp Fontanelle. 2020 has been a
challenging year for so many; we hope that being at camp will bring your child/children a sense of peace
and "relief" to be able to spend time outdoors.
Camp Fontanelle staff are doing their best to make
sure that the camp remains safe, through proper
cleaning and sanitizing, having hand sanitizer
available at all times and through the proper training
and certification when necessary of the camp staff.
We are following all of the guidelines for
cleaning/sanitation measures set forth by the
American Camping Association and Great Plains
Camping Inc. Some additional measures of our
camp include:
• Intentional prayer at the beginning of each camp for our world and camper’s safety
• Training with campers at the beginning of camp on how to keep one another safe
• Regularly cleaning of cabins, bathrooms, kitchen, and common areas during and in between camp
sessions.
• Discreetly inquiring to families about illness and/or recent known illnesses before and at registration.
• Implementing policies that keep campers safe during camp, as well as a policy and quarantine
procedures on what happens if someone gets sick during camp.
• Requiring staff to stay on grounds until it is safe for them to do so.
• Keeping in communication with our families via social media and through our camp website. There is a
specific area link at the top of website addressing Covid-19.
• Off ground field trips during camp maybe adjusted or canceled based on guidelines and camper safety.
Update on the Retreat Center Capital Campaign
Camp Fontanelle has been raising money for the
proposed retreat center. This center will add 72 beds in a
climate controlled (air conditioning and heating) setting. In
addition, there will be additional toilets and showers,
including handicap bathroom facilities with semi-private
rooms.
We have made a major milestone in this area, reaching 2.7
million in pledges (projected cost 3.3). We anticipate the new retreat center being fully realized this
year! Please pray as we move through this exciting process this year. Donations are still being received
towards the new retreat center: http://www.campfontanelle.com/volunteers-giving/ways-to-donate-or-

Camper Letters & Emails
Campers love to get mail, either a printed email or a letter that you have written.
What should you say to your camper?
Be positive…try not to emphasis the great things they are missing at home
Give them encouragement and let them know you are praying for them and that you
want them to have a great time
Try to refrain from being overly emotional. This may make your child lose sight of why
they are at camp and may result in homesickness.
Request for Prayer at Summer Camp
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
-John 16:33
As a community of faith, we believe that prayer is powerful. Our staff is in daily prayer and they would
like to include your family in those daily conversations.
Please let us know joys, concerns or life events which we can lift up to God while your camper is with
us. Share your prayer requests with us at check-in. There is a large display in our dining hall that
creatively allows you to share your prayers during our summer camp sessions. We encourage you to
use that this summer as we put on a New Self! If you have a need for someone to pray for you or
your family during this time please seek out a Camp Fontanelle staff member.
Celebrating Birthdays If your child is having a birthday while they are at camp and you would like them to share something
special with their camp buddies, please get in contact with Jane Van Horn (402-278-0526) or
[email protected]. She can let you know how many campers are in your child’s camp so
you provide enough treats. Please take into consideration that there may be food allergies, so things
like ice pops, Rice Krispy bars, ice cream are usually a safe choice.
Social Media & Marketing We wanted to remind you that we use camp photos in our social media and marketing. Names will
not be put with the photos. If you do not want pictures of your child to be utilized in social media
please indicate that on your camper’s registration form.
Thank you for sending your child to Camp Fontanelle.
