4. How This Course Works
MOST people who take serving alcohol responsibly would be working in positions where they were either serving alcohol or were responsible for those who are. They would already have some degree of experience in the field.
For many of MY students, they have never worked as a bartender, so dont have a frame of reference.
So, I am suggesting a four-step approach:Step 1 - My slide shows, giving you the highlights that are important for the various tests, and also the most important things we want you to remember when you are on the job or serving drinks at home.
5. How This Course Works
Step 2 The very well done ServSafe Alcohol video course, which I like a lot.It is presented in an easy to understand format, with lots of examples. You will do that online.
So think of my lectures as the highlight reels the key information for test and life.If you prefer, do my lectures last, up to you and how you think YOU will learn best.
Step 3 - When you are ready, you will take the Global Foodservice Institutes Certified in Alcohol Service (CAS) exam.70% is passing, and you will earn CAS.No proctor is required for this timed test.
6. How This Course Works
Step 4 - The passing score for the ServSafe Alcohol Advanced level test is 80%, therefore, if you score at least an 80% on the CAS test, we will provide you with a pre-paid voucher to take the ServSafe Alcohol test. That is the one required by counties in order to sell liquor and it is perhaps harder than our test.
If you score 70 to 79 you can either study more and take the CAS test again, or you can take the easier ServSafe Alcohol Primary exam, your choice. The passing score is 75 on this test.
You have an option to take the Primary exam, even if you score 80 or more on the CAS test.Your choice, but if you NEED to be certified in ServSafe Alcohol, you need the Advanced level ServSafe Alcohol test.
7. Payment
Like they say on the TV ads BUT WAIT, THERES MORE
Of course you are not going to get a thing, other than my lectures, until you pay.
You do that by going to the GFI testing center at http://bit.ly/oxCCKL.
If you are paying with a government or company voucher or purchase order, the site will direct you back to me to arrange your payment.Questions, please send me a note at [email protected]
