1. You create the coil, by rolling the clay with the palm of your hand. In the air or on the table. Then attach each coil on top of the next coil by scoring the coil, with xxx’s and ////’s.

2. Always apply even pressure with both hands when smoothing the inside surface. Use your hand or a spoon.

3. You will create some type of design on the outside of your piece. By using applique’s (applying shapes) or using sgraffito (a tool to carve a texture pattern).
