There were 5,655 sales reported in the first two weeks of May 2015 compared to 5,160 sales during the same period in May 2014. "It is clear that demand for ownership housing remains very strong in the GTA. So much so that, if the pace of sales experienced in the first half of this month is sustained in the second half, we will see record home sales for the month of May," said Etherington. The average selling price for transactions reported during the first 14 days of May was $652,782 for all home types combined - up by 10.7 per cent compared to the first two weeks of May 2014. The strongest price growth was experienced in the detached market segment, with the average price up by 13.8 per cent. "The low-rise market segments, including detached home sales, have been the driver of average price growth in the GTA this year. As market conditions have tightened, average price growth has remained very strong. However, while tighter market conditions have been a key factor, so too has been a shift to higher priced homes. Detached sales growth in the City of Toronto, for example, has been strongest for high-end homes. The resulting change in the mix of homes sold has also been an important factor in pushing the average price higher," said Jason Mercer, TREB's Director of Market Analysis. TORRANCE - Want a Mirai? All those in favor, say aye! Califor- nia trailblazers waiting to get behind the wheel of Toyota's hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle, the Mirai, now has a destination for pick up and pre-order. In October this year, Mirai will roll into select Toyota dealerships in the USA. Mirai has nearly the same footprint as that of the Camry hybrid but it is 2.5 inches taller. Carried into production are the FCV's gaping triangular outboard air intakes (fuel cells need a lot of cooling, apparently), which contain foot- tall vertical LED running lamps and have turn signals on their outer edges. Perched about the bumper are scowling LED headlamps and an odd 'floating' hood. The body features flowing fenders and Dodge Intrepid-like blackout windows, terminating in a rear end that can best be summed up as WTF, with a band of LED taillamps crossing the trunk as well as messy triangular forms containing the ancillary lighting. Despite its freshness to the market, the whole car is not new. In fact, many of the Mirai's underpinnings are shared with the Lexus HS250h, which was unceremoniously jettisoned from the luxury brand's lineup in 2012. Much was redesigned and beefed up to accommodate the Mirai's bespoke powertrain, starting with an AC synchronous electric generator that produces 151 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque, which Toyota says is sufficient to propel the Mirai to 60 mph in 9.0 seconds despite the car weighing a claimed 4080 pounds. That's 300-plus pounds more than the HS250h we tested. The only other performance specs are a random 25-to-40-mph passing time of 3.0 seconds and a top speed of 111 mph. When did you first realise that dance is theonly profession you wish to pursue? Is it apassion or hobby?Ans: I star ted training when I was seven-year-

old. I cannot say that it was a passion at that stage, cer tainly, Ienjoyed my lessons and took it very seriously. However it wasmuch later, when I was in my early twenties, that I realized it

was a passion and not a hobby.Q2. Who are your muses in dance? Did you getformal training?Ans: There are many dancers who have inspiredme, I can't really say if there was one par ticularone. When I was young, I got to seeVyjayantimala, Kamala Lakshman, YaminiKrishnamur thy; each of them had a distinctiveper formance style and I was very influenced bytheir ar tistry. Yes, I have trained formally underIndia's greatest gurus - Guru KalaimamaniKalyanasundaram and Padmabhushan KalanidhiNarayanan. This has been my greatest blessingto train under each of the above iconic figures inclassical Bharatanatyam.

Q3. How many accolades you have won over the years? Howdo they contribute to an artist's life?Ans: I have received many prestigious awards and honours butI will mention a few significant ones. The Order of Canada in2010 - the first time a South Asian ar tist was awarded thisnational honour. The very next year, I received the BharatiyaPavasi Samman by President Pratibha Patil for my contributionto the ar ts in the Canada.Q4. What are your expectations from the upcoming show?Ans: This year is our 25th anniversary year and the show -Nirantara - Beyond Space and Time - is very special as I amcollaborating with incredible collaborators from India. They areacclaimed pianist Anil Srinivasan and Carnatic Vocal SingerSikkil Gurucharan from Chennai, India. We have been meetingand discussing this project for about three years. There are sixwonder fully talented dancers and they have been a joy to workwith. The choreography is very different from classicalBharatanatyam, in both the thematic content and the treatmentof the choreography. Cer tainly. The boundaries of what isconventional Bharatanatyam are being pushed and somethingvery fresh and dynamic is a result of creating this innovativework.Q5. What's next?Ans: The year 2015 is packed with the 130 students of ouracademy doing a special dance theatre production - ONEWORLD, OUR WORLD - June 14 at the Lester Pearson Theatrein Brampton. In July 2015, we are planning a National Sympo-sium on Indian dance and there is a wonder ful program ofper formances, panel speakers, screening of dance films andworkshops. My guru Kalyanasundaram will be here at that timeand we are delighted to welcome him on such an impor tantoccasion.THE RHYTHM WITHINGLAM UP YOUR EYES WITHGRAPHIC LINERNew Delhi, (IANS) Your eyes are the most expressive par t of thebody, and lining them adds more glamour to it. To make your eyeslook more defined, use a concealer to hide discolouration and use agel-based eyeliner to draw out a basic shape, says an exper t.Shival Ghai, beauty exper t of the capital-based Xpressions Salon, doles out tips to help you make your eyes look more glamourous.* Conceal it: Use a concealer on your eyelid, for smooth applicationof eye-liner and to hide any discolouration* Hide it: Draw an invisible eyeliner -- a liner as close to the lashline as possible which is not visible. This makes your hand morestable as you draw the actual eyeliner.* Twist it: Use a gel-based eyeliner to draw a basic shape along theeyelid, but give it a small flick at the end, to give a winged effect.* Draw it: Connect the highest point of this flick to the other end ofthe eye, from out to in -- make as straight a line as possible.

STYLE UP LONG TRESSESA LA HOLLYWOOD CELEBSLondon, (IANS) The wob or wavy bob may be the cut of the season, but don't let anyone tell you long hairis going out of style. Lengthy tresses never go out of fashion and celebrities including Beyonce Knowles,Reese Witherspoon, Cara Delevingne and Kelly Brook have shown the way to go.From the up-dos, waves to bouffants, you can go creative with long hair and look good if it's done properly, repor ts mirror.co.uk.* Reese Witherspoon: A centre par ting is a key par t of the 1970s trend, but the actress adds a 2015 twistby pairing it with gentle curls star ting from chin-level down, rather than going for a dead-straight do.* Victoria Beckham: Frequently spor ted in the loosely pinned high bun, Victoria's youthful yet chic styleis a trend, and of course is even better if you have killer cheekbones to show off.* Beyonce Knowles: The high ponytail has lots of drama with the extreme height of the pony. It's great foradding height, and slims your overall look. Recreate it by tonging the ends of your hair with a wand andgently combing through the one Beyonce spor ts regularly.* Holland Roden: The combo of beehive and wavy ponytail, as seen on Roden, has a pretty 1960s feel, with lots of natural texture rather than being scraped back. Take hair back with your fingers, rather than acomb, to keep it casual, and wear the pony low at the neck.* Kelly Brook: The casual undone wave is big at the moment, moving away from more formal curls, saysTresemmé ambassador Jamie Stevens. Tong the hair in big sections, twisting it as you wrap it round thebarrel, and leave the ends uncurled. Always shake hair through with fingers, don't brush it.
