A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper to complain that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday. He wrote: “I’ve gone for 30 years now, and I’ve heard something like 3,000 sermons, but for the life of me, I cannot recall a single one of them. So I think I’m wasting my time and the preachers and priests are wasting theirs by giving any sermon at all.” This started a controversy in “letters to the Editor,” much to the delight of the editor and went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher: “I’ve been married for 30 years. In that time my wife cooked some 32,000 meals; but for the life of me, I can’t recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I know this for sure: they all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work. If my wife hadn’t given me those meals, I would be physically dead. Likewise, had I not gone to church for spiritual nourishment I would be spiritually dead today! When you’re DOWN to nothing, God is UP to something! Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible! We can Thank God for his physical and his spiritual nourishment. If you cannot see God in All, You cannot see God At All! B.I.B.L.E means: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth!

Get them before they are gone! I am speaking about the Prayer Vigil slots. There are only ten left, and they are at the most desirable part of the day -Midnight to 4 am. As I contemplated these last openings on our Easter Prayer Vigil, I began to think about Jesus and his vigil of prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane.
(32) They came to an area called Gethsemane. Jesus told his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."
- For the disciples, the temptation was for them to fall asleep. It had been a long week. All Jerusalem was filled with people getting ready for the Passover. Everything probably took extra time and effort. There were the crowds on Palm Sunday. And, there was avoiding the crowds after that, especially after Jesus cleared the Temple. There was no rest. Jesus knew this. He asked them to pray anyway. The hour was late. The betrayer was at hand. Jesus needed their support, their prayer. Part of the disciples was ready to do anything for the kingdom of God. The other part was lazy. They had several excellent excuses. However, the Temple Guards were not interested in their excuses. Judas did not wait until they had a more convenient time to pray. We do not know the hour. We do not know how late it really is. We do not know who is coming down the garden path. So, pray. Pray without ceasing. I am excited that so many of you have volunteered to pray going into Resurrection Morning, Easter. May God find us vigilant, especially if the hour is late. In Christ, Rev. Donald H. Smith

Mission of the Month MISSION OF THE MONTH IS -The mission of the month for April is Health Kits for Zimbabwe. This year the conference has asked our district to make Health Kits to be sent to the people of Zimbabwe. The kits will contain medications and toiletries. We are going to make it easy for you! The Missions Committee is asking that you help by donating money. Volunteers will then shop for the health items and assemble the kits. One kits costs about $20, and we have a goal of 50 kits. Thank you for giving generously!
