YMCA Suggested Music: Village People Single Version Disco Gold Set up a track or oval that the students will be moving around. You may want to use cones as markers. Spread the students out as much as possible. Begin with the students marching around the track/cones when the music begins. Progress to gentle jogging, skipping, sliding, galloping, etc… Whenever the CHORUS PLAYS “It’s Fun to Stay At The…YMCA” the students stop in good self-space and make the letters with their arms up high

MEXICAN HAT DANCE Dance Steps
1. Do all moves 8xs
2. "There's a special dance": Jump and tap each heel alternately forward 3xs starting with the R foot.
3. Clap hands 2xs
4. "And we'll all dance": Hook R elbows with partner, run in small steps in a circle for counts. Reverse with L elbows hooked for 8 counts. Repeat.
5. Show good body control when you swing in a circle with your partner.
6. Repeat all moves from the beginning.

What Does the Fox Say? Grade Level: Elementary Equipment: Music, animal pictures Choreographed by Lori Bifarella & Anthony Ianni Music: “What does the Fox Say?” by Ylvis Description: Students will learn the names of the animals on a farm and the sounds the animals make. Show the students the pictures of the animals and practice the sounds each one makes. Follow the directions/steps listed below for the dance. Teach the movements in small pieces. Fitness Focus: Students will demonstrate the ability to use basic walking steps in several body directions while demonstrating rhythmic accuracy with their steps. Students will state that dancing makes their heart go faster and is good exercise.

hands like “The Virginia Reel” Repeat Dance Hey Baby (see UTube.com) Equipment: Hey Baby (Radio Mix) song by DJ Otzi; scarves if desired. Procedure: In scattered formation, lead students through the steps then add music. You can also add scarves for added fun and affect. (During “Hey Baby” part)
