JOB SUMMARY

This position performs duties related to the management of the college’s supply inventory.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Processes new property and equipment in the inventory system; identifies and records new capital items. • Inspects shipments for damaged items, accuracy, and quality; signs for shipments received; compares

delivery receipts with purchase orders; records items received on inventory cards. • Issues materials, supplies and equipment on request and keeps appropriate records; checks in returned

items; weighs and measures stock items. • Crates, marks, stencils, and prepares outgoing shipments; loads materials, supplies, tools, and equipment on

trucks and cars; delivers and receives supply items. • Maintains a perpetual inventory of stock as it is received and issued; writes requests for requisitions for

replenishment of stock; places items on shelves; takes periodic inventories of stock. • Keeps the storeroom and premises clean and disposes of rubbish. • Performs clerical tasks. • Participates in the taking of physical inventories of college property and equipment; prepares related reports;

This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the college’s physical plant operations, including construction, building maintenance, custodial maintenance, grounds maintenance, mail room, central receiving, and safety management.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Provides management, supervision and professional direction to a comprehensive facilities organization; directs facilities master planning, space utilization, architectural and engineering services, and construction management; directs facilities maintenance, repair and operations activities, including renovations, utilities distribution, custodial and grounds maintenance services, and emergency response services for facilities.

• Develops and recommends policies, planning guidelines and procedures for the development of the college’s annual major repair and renovation and capital program; manages the program throughout the process of development, approval and implementation; works with service providers; negotiates and approves contracts.

This position is responsible for participating in the maintenance of college buildings, facilities and equipment. An incumbent in this position may be designated “Senior Building Maintenance Worker”.

MAJOR DUTIES

• Inspects buildings, fixtures, machines and other structural or mechanical units and notes repair needs; performs minor maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating.
