General Department: Buildings Type of building material: Fire protection materials for structural use Applications: For protection of structural elements to resist the action of fire for the specified periods B. Acceptance criteria Testing standards: Fire test/assessment should be carried out in accordance with BS 476: Parts 20 to 24: 1987. Conditions of Acceptance: To satisfy section 6.5 of the Code of Practice for Fire Resisting Construction 1996, valid and full fire test/assessment report shall be submitted to demonstrate that the concerned product or material has been tested in accordance with or assessed against BS 476: Parts 20 to 24: 1987 by a laboratory accredited under HOKLAS or recognized under mutual recognition agreements/arrangements with HOKLAS, or one of the assessing organizations listed in PNAP 251. Details of application such as surface preparation, application of primer, top coating etc, shall be strictly in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications/recommendations and are compatible with those adopted in the fire tests.

B. Acceptance criteria

Testing standards: Fire test/assessment should be carried out in accordance with BS 476: Parts 20 to 24: 1987.

Conditions of Acceptance: • To satisfy section 6.5 of the Code of Practice for Fire Resisting

Construction 1996, valid and full fire test/assessment report shall be submitted to demonstrate that the concerned product or material has been tested in accordance with or assessed against BS 476: Parts 20 to 24: 1987 by a laboratory accredited under HOKLAS or recognized under mutual recognitionagreements/arrangements with HOKLAS, or one of the assessing organizations listed in PNAP 251.

• Details of application such as surface preparation, application ofprimer, top coating etc, shall be strictly in accordance with themanufacturer’s specifications/recommendations and arecompatible with those adopted in the fire tests.
