Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic are

working to join the Agreement on the establishment of the Center with:

Strategic Center Activities

Strengthen regional and international cooperation in disaster risk reduction, emergency prevention and

response

Increasing the level of safety of the population and territories of the states of the region based on the

improvement of the institutional and legal framework, institutional framework, mechanisms, strategies, policies

and practices of disaster risk management and emergency situations

Consolidation of efforts of all interested Parties and attraction of investments in the field of disaster risk

reduction, emergency prevention

Strengthening preparedness for effective emergency response, rescue and humanitarian operations,

reconstruction and rehabilitation

Ensuring institutional development and capacity building of the Center

Implementation of the Sendai Framework

The main tasks of the Center - to provide effective mechanisms to mitigate the risks of emergency situations and

mitigate their consequences, jointly respond through measures agreed by the Parties, and stimulate regional and

international cooperation.

The Center conducts its activities in a coordinated manner with world trends in the field of

disaster risk reduction, therefore, in addition to the functions assigned by the agreement, of its strategic

directions the Center has taken the following postulates of its strategic directions:

At the Forum, the Center has been granted the status of a regional Forum

secretariat - Meetings of the heads of emergency authorities of the

countries of Central Asia

By the decision of the heads of delegations of the departments of the Central

Asian countries, they approved:

" Regional Scientific and Technical Council for Emergency Situations ";

“Coordination System for Emergency Response in Central Asia”;

"Regional Register of national and international experts - experts";

“Regional Register of forces and means of Central Asian countries”.

Grant of the European Commission on humanitarian assistance and civil protection of ECHO for 2017-2018 under the

DIPECHO Program;

Projects in the field of DRR and emergency situations of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and the CIS, Istanbul

(Turkey;

Projects of the Subregional Office of the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP);

The UNDP project in the Kyrgyz Republic “Strengthening the Capacity for Integrated Risk Management in the Kyrgyz

Republic and Regional Cooperation in Central Asia”, funded by the Government of Japan in the framework of the Central Asia

Plus Japan Dialogue;

UNICEF Regional Office Project for Central and Eastern Europe and the CIS;

The project of the Representation of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement in Tajikistan, Kazakhstan

and Kyrgyzstan (IFRC) and the National Red Crescent Societies of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, implemented in the area

of emergency response and preparedness for emergency response at the regional level.

Projects:

Active negotiations are underway on the Center’s participation in the

programs of the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, the European

Commission.

organizations from 22 countries shared with the professionals from the countries of Central Asia and South Caucasus the best

practices, experiences and approaches developed by the international community in DRR and emergency field.
