• The sample data are now collected in the ACS
• Same “short form” questions on the ACS

American Community Survey: What is it?
• A large, continuous survey
Key component of the 2010 census program.
Replaces census sample questionnaire (long form).
Produces characteristics, not a population count.
More current information:annual data rather than once every 10 years.
Produces information for small areas including tracts, block groups and population subgroups.
