MTVs first video to be banned was Queen’s 1982 hit ‘ Body Language’. This was due to the camera shots of skin and sweat and apparently this made it unsuitable for the televisions as it was teenagers who watch this TV programme mainly. But MTV did air Olivia Newton Johns 1981 music video ‘Physical’. This had multiple images of bikinis that should be considered unsuitable. As the music video ‘Girls on Film’ by Duran Duran, that music video featured 1991 – Michael Jacksons ‘Black or White’ was banned because it shows Michael Jackson touching himself and therefore was a very controversial 2000 – Robbie Williams ‘Rock DJ’ was banned due to him stripping naked and then peeling his skin off along with his muscles and the rest of his organs. This was banned during the day time in the UK and was not aired till 10pm. In the Dominican Republic banned this video due to allegations of Satanism. 1980s - The Sex Pistols' video for "God Save the Queen" was banned by the BBC for calling the United Kingdom a fascist 2010 - Thirty Seconds to Mars video "Hurricane" was censored because of its major elements of violence, nudity and sex .The short film was later released with a clean version that can air on television.
