This time the set-up was a little different for us. We unloaded our cars at the post office as usual, but instead of lining up on Bowie St. and sitting in the heat, we proceeded to Crockett Street and lined up behind Carlton Carl’s house and waited in the cool shade of his back porch or inside the house in the air conditioning for our signal to fall in line for the parade. Carlton, ever the gracious host, had Bloody Marys and cold water along with some really delicious snacks to munch on while we waited. Some folks even downed a delicious ice cold brew. Joe Pinnelli led our group in Henry, his ‘23 TT, followed by Robert Norberg in his ‘27 Depot Hack, John Anderson in his ‘24 Fordor, Vic Donnell in his ‘13 Touring “Minnie Lee”, George Brunner in his ‘12 Mother-in-law, and J. C. Carter in his 1915 Woodie. J. C.’s brother Kenneth Joined us in a beautiful ‘49 Plymouth coupe, and Bob and Karen Ross brought up the rear in their very nice ‘ 84 Cadillac Convertible. Tom Romberg rode with J. C.’s brother in his Plymouth Coupe as his engine is still not completely reassembled, and Wayne Clark and his children rode with Robert Norberg. Everyone enjoyed the parade and the post parade party at Carlton’s. It had gotten a little hot so Carlton’s cold drinks and shade was especially appreciated. We were then treated royally at the Latham’s with great food and fellowship!

Minutes of the June 2016 Meeting

President Robert Norberg called the regular monthly meeting of the Cen-TexTin Lizzies to order at 7 pm on June 21,2016. There were 19 members present .

Bob Ross made a motion to accept the minutes of the last meeting as presented in the Band Chatter as there were no corrections or additions to be made. J.C. Carter seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Jan Donnell gave the treasurer's report and stated that the current balance in our bank account is sufficient for our current needs. Jan also stated the Ed and Heather Penniman have joined the club. George Brunner made a motion to accept the treasurer's report as given and Randy Brown seconded the motion. Motion carried.

Jan Donnell gave the Wellness report in lieu of Cynthia Hadorn since Cynthia is not present. George Hack lost his battle with liver cancer last month. A living plant was sent to Carol Hack. Corky Stanley is still in 24 hour Angel of Mercy care and not doing too well. She sleeps 95% of the time. Bob Ross said that Karen Ross had shoulder replacement surgery today. She is having pain, but the surgery went well and she is really doing well.

The movie making men are still in need of pre-1915 cars for this portion of the movie that is being filmed.

The Father's Day Car Show went well—8 cars from our club were there. Joe Pinnelli won the trophy for the best pre-war truck. The Hadorn's brought donuts and kolaches. Randy Brown brought fried chicken for lunch.

July 4th Parade in Martindale is coming up. Lunch will be at Mrs. Latham's again, she will furnish chicken and we are to bring sides and dessert.

Reminder---the Texas T Party is September 28th thru October 2nd in Stephenville, Tx.

worst flooding was in July 1869. In 1892 they laid the final granite block in the dam and it washed out in 1900. The dam was rebuilt in 1912 and it washed out again in 1915.

George Brunner made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Tom Romberg seconded the motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:30pm.

Hello members,For those of you that missed it, we had a wonderful 4th of July parade in Martindale TX with a nice display of Model Ts and a good crowd to admire them. Special thanks to Carlton for hosting us both before and after the parade with refreshments and snacks. After visiting for a while, we convoyed out to the Latham's home on the river for a wonderful meal of Fried Chicken with all the fixin's. Wayne Clark brought the kids and participated in the parade even though their Model T is under repair. Please remember, you do not have to own a Model T to participate in our events, because we welcome all member's participation.

There is a lot of activity regarding the filming of the television show named, "The Son." We have a few members & their vehicles involved and it seems the filming will be happening on & off until the end of the year.

It is wonderful to see our new members at our meetings and events. If you know of anyone else that would like to join us, please let them know of our monthly meetings and hopefully we can acquire more members.

The next activity on our calendar is the Texas T Party, September 28 thru October 1st in Stephenville TX. If you have never attended a T Party, I highly recommend it, it is just a lot of fun and it is NOT too late to register. The registration form is located in the Band Chatter.

Till next monthRobert Norberg - President
