Cement Review

New cement developed by Blue World Crete Leave your comment A new kind of cement, which is a hybrid of geo-polymer and nano- ceramic cement, has been developed by scientists at Blue World Crete Inc. Named as Geo-Blue Crete, the new variety cement is a completely low carbon alternative that looks, acts and works like portland cement. It has a low manufacturing cost and can be distributed in the same way, with the same equipment. The new variety cement uses lesser amount of water in its concrete mix and has the potential to achieve three times the compression and tensile strengths of portland cement. Impressive results have been yielded by third party testing and ASTM. The manufacture of the product is dependent on a generic chemical formulation and not reliant on a recipe of manufactured chemical mixed products. The product can be manufactured in portable plants whose capital outlay cost is roughly 5 % of an equivalent OPC manufacturing plant. The newly manufactured product is a one-part system requiring a simple paddle mixing of its powdered chemical formula at ambient temperatures. The manufacturing process does not rely on fossil fuels or large kilns. However, its delivery system remains similar as OPC and the product itself results in a high performance concrete at 6000 psi and over. It is water retardant, acid retardant, discourages rebar oxidation and has a near zero coefficient of expansion. This makes for its efficient use in below freezing temperatures as well as in tropical regions. It makes for a great insulator due to non heat transferable properties and most importantly, it is made of post industrial waste. Negotiations are underway between Blue-World Crete Inc and several manufacturers and distributors worldwide, chiefly in countries like the US, Colombia, Brazil and Australia.
