Cell notes for 12.12.10 Where are You Now ? We set the scene by looking at Adam and Eve in the Garden through Genesis Chapter 2. We saw that God had provided man with everything he needed including beautiful surroundings, abundant provision, freedom, companionship, responsibility. The relationship Adam had with Eve and with God was open and honest and based on Trust. In spite of having everything they needed Adam and Eve sought after that which was not meant to be for them, with catastrophic consequences. Adam and Eve were deceived into thinking that par taking the forbidden fruit would somehow enhance their lives. Instead it had the opposite effect and damaged their relationship with God, their Creator Provider and Friend. The trust between man and God was broken and now man hid in fear from God. Sometimes in life we fix our gaze on things that are not meant to be for us thinking that if only we had them our lives would be better. If sustained, this can often detract us from true purpose in life, makes us less content with what we have, and at worst orchestrate our downfall. God punished the serpent and man for their disobedience resulting in a life cursed with battles, painful toil and ultimately death. Even with the dark consequences of mans sin, God loved man so much that he had a plan for restoration and we catch a glimpse of this plan in vs 15. We concluded that God has a plan for all of our lives but we need to restore our closeness to him if we are to gain insight into what that plan is. Read 1 Genesis Chapter 3 vs 8-15 and vs17-19 1. In Genesis Chapter 3 vs 8 God asked Adam the question Where are You? He also asks that of us today too. Discuss the following - Where are in your life’s journey?

Where are You Now ?
