PRIMARY CULTURE

CLONAL CULTURE

MASS CULTURE : Large numbers of cells are added to a

culture dish where they attach to the bottom. Those

cells that survive will proliferate and after a number

of generations form a monolayer of cells that cover

the bottom of dish

CLONAL CULTURE : Cell is attached to a dish at some

distance from its neighbors. Surviving cells

proliferate and form a colony (a clone) whose

members are derived from same cell

SECONDARY CULTURE : Previously culture cells are

removed and transferred to a media is secondary

culture
