The cell membrane is found in both plant and animal cells. The cell membrane acts as a “framework,” and keeps the cell together. Similar to how the Constitution keeps the Government together.

Cytoplasm is a gelatinous substance found in both animal and plant cells, as well as every other type of cell. The cytoplasm keeps the organelles in place, and helps the transport of substances around the cell. Similar to the people of the United States, keeping government stable, and “transporting” votes. The Democracy style government in America was started and is still based on the people.

The Nucleus is the center of all plant and animal cells. The nucleus sends out genetic information, instructing the cell how to function. Similar to the President sending out orders to the people and government, of how to run the country.

The endoplasmic reticulum is an organelle found in both plant and animal cells. There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum; rough (containing ribosome's), and smooth. The rough endoplasmic reticulum is site of protein synthesis, having protein producing ribosome’s. The smooth endoplasmic reticulum is site of lipid synthesis. The endoplasmic reticulum serves a similar function to executives in the government. Executives receive laws and decide to pass them or not, similar to how the endoplasmic reticulum (R&S) receive proteins and lipids.

Ribosome’s are small structures found in plant and animal cells. Ribosome’s produce protein to help the cell function, and are essential to the cell’s existence. Similar to the legislatures of America, laws are created, in the same matter of how proteins are created.

The nucleolus is the center of the nucleus in both, plant and animal cells. The nucleolus creates ribosome’s, which produce protein. Similar to the Vice President and the president controlling the legislatures.

The mitochondrion are the “power house” of plant and animal cells. They turn food molecules into energy, used by the cell. Similar to the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency), trying to provide energy, in the cleanest way possible.

The Golgi Apparatus, or Golgi Body is an organelle in plant and animal cells, which “packages, and ships,” proteins around the cell. Similar to the USPS, (United States Postal Service), the governmental shipping service, used by everyone in America.

The Vacuole is an organelle found in plant and animal cells, which is used to store enzymes, food, and energy. The Vacuole acts like the United States National Bank, which is used to store the governments money.
