Level 5I experiment with ideas in my sketchbook to develop my stencil printing. My ideas are ambitious.My understanding of collage, mixed media and printing informs my design for my portrait outcome. I have applied a range of practical skills when using collage, mixed media and printing. I use my knowledge of mark making to enhance my final piece, and add pattern and detail to it.I evaluate my own work and can adapt and refine my ideas and techniques.

Level 6I experiment with a broad range of mark making. I consider how layering can enhance and add value to my work.I use a combination of collage and printing in an appropriate manner and experiment with these techniques to create an effective design. I apply my practical skills and technical knowledge to achieve an effective portrait of a celebrity.I interpret and explain how ideas and meanings are conveyed by the artists and literary sources we have used. I evaluate my own work and that of others to develop and refine my control of materials and my ideas.

Level 7/8I experiment with a broad range of mark making and printing . I can effectively apply pattern to my background and create a multi layered stencil portrait. I use a combination of collage, pattern and stencil printing to create an effective outcome. I understand the meanings and messages in Pop art and Street art and can interpret and critically analyse these myself. I can explain how my composition has been developed and designed.I research others’ work and apply this effectively to help create an independent outcome.I have use a mixed media approach in an appropriate way and consider flat colour, pattern and meaning in my work.
