SAINT CLARE PARISH • CLIFTON, NJ Easter Sunday of the Resurrection of the Lord• April 21st, 2019

www.SaintClareNJ.com

Dear Friends, Today all creatures rejoice for Jesus reveals to the world that He is truly Lord and God! He has risen from the dead! Alleluia! Happy Easter! I am always amazed on how quickly time passes. It seemed like only yesterday we were wishing one another Christmas greetings and today we, as Christians of the world, are celebrating that glorious event of salvation history, the passion, the death and now the glorious resurrection of Jesus from the dead. My prayer for you during this Easter Season is to continue to open your hearts and minds to the risen Lord. Allow for Jesus to become the center of your life, your faith, and your family. Be healed from those things or events that may hold you back from giving your complete self to the Lord. If you were away from the faith and the Church, come home to Christ this Easter through the sacrament of healing, which is confession. We miss you! We like seeing you! We want you home with us for Easter and always! Please know that we are here for you if you need us! I am grateful to all those that helped to make our Holy Week celebrations truly special most especially to our decoration committee, music ministry, ushers, Lectors, Ministers of Holy Communion, servers, and the countless parishioners that welcomed visitors to our parish family for the first time or the first time in many years. We are so happy that you chose to worship with us and look forward in seeing you again and again at one of our Masses. Over the years, since my arrival as Pastor, we as a parish held many different types of fundraising events sponsored by the Saint Clare Society and Holy Name Society. All proceeds from the fundraisers went into a fund called the Saint Clare Fund. Because of these programs we raised enough money to finally replace the sanctuary floor of the church. This is the beginning of many more wonderful things to come in our parish. More on this in the very near future. So next time you see a fundraiser, please support them for the proceeds help to support our parish church. I would also like to welcome all parents with children to enroll in our Religious Education Program for the Fall 2019. This year, I am pleased to announce a change in our confirmation program that was approved by the Bishop. Instead of waiting until Sophomore year of High School to be confirmed, we will move to the 8th grade. So, in order to make communion and confirmation, your child should be enrolled into our CCD program from 2nd grade to 8th grade. Please call the office for more information.

God Bless and a Blessed Easter to all of you! Fr. Peter Glabik

Pastor

“Brothers and sisters: If then you were raised with Christ, seek what is above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. Think of what is above, not of what is on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ your life appears, then you too will appear with him in glory.” The day of victory and triumph, bringing great joy and peace. We have visited the empty tomb, and ask with the anxious apostles, ‘where is He?’. ‘We were hoping…’ As Easter people our hopes are not dashed, but we hear reports of the Risen Christ in the upper room, on the road to Emmaus, in the garden and at the shores of the sea. He is not hidden. We as believers look for the Lord too. Look within, as He lives and lives in us. Today may we recognize His presence through the life of grace. May we acknowledge in His presence in others. May we bring that presence to those who are slow to believe. May we adore that presence in the Eucharist. Don’t let His life remain hidden, but through living your faith reveal that presence to others.
