A Higher Standard of Care
Helen Leddy, resident and Cheryl Ayotte, Medicare specialist,
hit the dance floor to the music of Bob Barclow.
Crezencia Delos Santos, resident and Alexander Rivera share a smile!
When she was a resident in your facility,
she was the happiest I have ever seen her
in my whole life.
Celebrating Life as a Family
You are cordially invited to visit our facility. Call for a tour today.
As found in the St. Francis Home Mission Statement:
An Environment Reminiscent of “Home”
Situated in Thomas Township on a 12-acre private parcel that nears the Tittabawssee River and where wildlife flourishes, St. Francis Home is distinguished within the community for its generational and close-knit family atmosphere.
Creating that “Home” feel, the courtyards at St. Francis “Home” are the scene for a variety of barbecues and picnics where residents can admire the landscaping, savor the delicious food, and enjoy the wonderful fresh air.
Loved ones of residents can conveniently “join in the fun” as they find St. Francis “Home” just minutes away and centrally located off of M-46/Gratiot Road, heading North on River Road, in Shields.
Our recipe for success is simple: Focus on Relationships. Relationships are Everything.
The caring staff at St. Francis Home, in serving the Elder population of Saginaw County, now for over 60 years, finds this duty as both a privilege and an honor.
We understand the value in creating a life worth living, where opportunities for all to give, as well as receive, are noble achievements. This is accomplished by understanding and honoring each persons 7 Domains of Well Being.
What Home would be without a pet?
Pet therapy, an innovative and popular program at St. Francis Home, has been ongoing for many years
and the results are impressive, bringing much joy and laughter. For example you may find Derry visiting the residents in the Activities Center.
St. Francis Home, owned by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Saginaw, exists to help older persons to live their final years of life in the light of faith.

Also, inside St. Francis Home you will find the Life Enrichment Division, the Activities Center and the Hospitality Department encouraging residents to live as full and independent a life as possible.
Daily rituals may find your loved one starting their day off right by being treated to a delicious and healthy breakfast served by the certified culinary staff in the dining room. Up next, a stop at the salon to get their hair washed and set. Then it is over to the Activities center where morning exercises and a catch up on the local news takes place. This is followed by live music and entertainment. All of this fun activity happens before lunch to help stimulate their minds, lift their spirits and encourage a healthy appetite.
Intimate spaces have been created like the Men’s Lodge that is often used for playing Euchre or telling of veteran stories.
And for the ladies, The Tea Room, offers a more refined space to enjoy a cup of tea while talking over Book Club. Additionally, the Family Dining Room is open for resident friends and family to be together.
These space dedications provide a very important nucleus for daily life generally found at home. But wait, there’s more!

Our unique faith and professional environment fosters the power of healing. In fact, manag-ers are so committed as to be found at St. Francis Home on every weekend and holiday.
Faith and religious observance spiritually sustain and nourish many of our residents who believe complete healthcare includes spiritual care. The spiritual element is often the “why St Francis Home” is chosen. St. Francis Home welcomes people of all faiths and offers Catholic Mass and rosary daily in our Chapel.
Laying of hands, anointing of the sick and other spiritual guidance is provided upon request by our priest.
