“Establishing and working with Clement’s Kindness Fund for the Children has actually been a very healing experience for us. In a way, we are very fortunate that this charity was named after our son.
It’s a wonderful way to grieve in that we can help other families.” — Priscilla and Knox Haynsworth, parents of Clement Haynsworth

fun activities that help relieve the everyday stresses that they endure. As a board, we are committed to enhancing the quality of life for these families.”

“I learned about how Clement’s Kindness could help my family through Pam Broughton. Because Aliyah’s treatment was so intense we had to move to Greenville temporarily, which has been really hard because I ’m responsible for my family’s income. I would really like to thank Clement’s Kindness for all the support and for helping my family at the perfect time. I wish there was something more I could do to pay them back. Our family is very thankful for everything.” — Jasmine CollinsAliyah’s mother

At the holidays, we were given gif t cards for Thanksgiving, and Clement’s Kindness made sure that not only Kierra had a great Christmas but her brothers as well. We were blessed to go to Carowinds and Camp Courage thanks to Clement’s Kindness. I also really appreciate the staff who took the time out to make school visits. “We would have been in trouble if it weren’t for Clement’s Kindness. There are really no words to describe how dif f icult it is when your child is diagnosed with cancer because all of a sudden you have to put your family’s entire life on hold. You know you have to think about bills and daily life, but you just really want to take care of your child. Clement’s Kindness was there to assist with necessities such as heat and helped me keep some kind of normalcy so we could continue to do things as a family.” — Christy Newbill

Clement’s Kindness Endowment
With your help and support, Clement’s Kindness can continue to make a big difference. A donation is the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of these incredible families and see your generosity at work in the Upstate. Every donation goes directly to the patients and their families. Your donation may be used for gas money to take a child back and forth for chemotherapy over the course of several months. Or your donation could provide funds for a plane ticket to visit a specialist across the country. Your donation may be used to help with a mortgage payment because a mother had to leave her job to care for her child. As you’ve seen, the needs are many, but so are the opportunities to help:$5,000 will provide funds for a School Intervention Program, which helps transition and prepare children to reenter a school environment.$2,500 will sponsor a Family Support Day and Retreat. $ 1,000 will pay for incidental expenses for a family to take a trip to Duke University for a bone marrow transport evaluation.$500 will help a family with a mortgage payment or their utility bills for a month.$ 250 can fund a monthly Teenager Support Meeting and pizza lunch.$ 150 can be used for an initial medication evaluation for a patient and family member.$ 50 will pay for a gas card for transportation to and from appointments or a grocery store gift card.
Help us make a difference.
If you are able to, please remember Clement’s Kindness Fund for Children in your will. All contributions and donations are tax deductible. Please check with your tax advisor.
