Adult & Teen Bible Classes: Last week we looked at the
new curriculum we will be using in our children’s Bible
Classes. Today, we are going to go over the plans for our
Adult and Teen Bible Classes for the Fall Quarter
(starting September 6th). In regard to our adult classes we
have some exciting news: we are going back to three
adult classes on both Sunday morning and Wednesday
night. This will give us more options so that we can
choose the subject matter that we would prefer to study.
On Sunday morning, brother Mac Bracewell will be tak-
ing over the auditorium class. He will be teaching the
Gospel Advocate Foundations material on The Miracles
of Jesus. In the annex, I will be continuing our study of
Acts. Our new class will be in the large classroom (the
puppet room). It will be taught by Greg Bryant on Par-
ables in Luke. On Wednesday night, Monty Russell will
continue the study of Joshua. Also the young Mothers
class, taught by Linda Kyle, will resume meeting and
studying Time Management For Christian Women.
Our new Wednesday night class will be in the annex.
Rick Kyle will be showing the DVD “The Silencing of
God” and leading a discussion on it. As for our teen
classes on Sunday both the High School and Middle
School classes will be studying the Gospel Advocate Ho-
rizons material. On Wednesday night we will continue to
work on Lads to Leaders preparation with both classes.

SHOULD I ATTEND ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT?
You may ask, “Why should I attend the mid-week service on Wednesday night?” Let me
give you four reasons you should be attending the Wednesday service every week!
1.It is an opportunity for you to grow spiritually and in knowledge of God’s Word. You
need to study the Bible! If you attend every Wednesday night over a period of time you will
have a better understanding of God’s will! Each Wednesday night we have Bible classes for
the various age groups. Then we assemble to sing and pray together. You are missing
something important if you do not attend the Wednesday night service! Peter said, “grow
in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.” (II Peter 3:18)
2. It is something you can do which will help the church. The church is the body of
Christ. Each member should be active and working! Paul said that “the eye cannot say unto
the hand, I have no need of thee.” (I Corinthians 12:21). The church is stronger and in a
better position to bring glory to God when the members are faithful to participate in its total
program of teaching and worship. You are needed on Wednesday night.
3.It is one way you can be of help to others. People are watching you. Friends and
neighbors wonder about your religion. They wonder just how sincere you are. They won-
der if the church of Christ means much to you. They see your example when on Wednesday
night you stay at home, or go to some other activity and do not attend prayer meeting! You
could have a greater influence for good upon your friends if you would show them that you
mean business and that you really believe in Christ and His church! Jesus said, “Let your
light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your fa-
ther.” (Matthew 5:16).
4.It is your duty as a member of the church ! Christ died for us. Aren’t we willing to be
faithful in our Christian duty for Him? Are we faithful members when the church assembles
to pray for and study together if we make no effort to participate?

chooses must be paid for at the end of the line.”

TIAN ANYWHERE.

QUESTIONS FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT
ATTEND THE SERVICES?
Do you not feel a need for studying the Bible with other Christians?
Would it benefit you to sing and pray with other Christians at this time?
Do you think it would be in the best interest of the church to cancel the mid week service?
If you stay home from the mid-week service because of your children, would you allow
them to hinder you from attending a civic or social meeting?
If your Lord should come on a Wednesday night, would you rather be present with the
saints of God studying the Bible than to be at home with your feet propped up watching TV
When your children grow up, do you want them to be regular in attendance at all the ser-
vices of the church, or would you prefer that they follow your example?
Mission Update: We received a letter from
Steven Lucas who we support in his work in
Hurley, MS. , with some exciting news. A
thirty-seven year old mother of four was
added to the Lord’s body recently. The
woman had been given a copy of the book,
Muscle and a Shovel by a member of the con-
gregation there. She had studied the book
carefully and after two weeks was desiring
baptism! We rejoice at this wonderful news.
Brother Lucas also describes a new nursing
home ministry as well as an effort to engage
denominational preachers in the area in dis-
cussion. Let’s keep praying for the Lucas
family and the work in Hurley.
