PRINCE GEORGE CAMPUS The FCN Theory course is scheduled over a period of 11 weeks and takes approximately 110 hours to complete. This course is offered entirely online. Webinars are pre-recorded and nurses can complete assignments at their own pace as long as all assignments are submitted by the course end date. A 75% average or higher is required to pass and receive the course certificate. Onsite Foot Care Nurse Clinical (FCN Clinical)

The Onsite Foot Care Nurse Clinical course (FCN Clinical) is administered bythe College of New Caledonia, an independent clinical education providerwith a license to access and teach Foot Canada Training's FCN Clinical, FCNClinical Refresher and Advanced FCN Skills Workshop Curriculum.

The FCN Clinical course is a clinical course for nurses who have successfullycompleted Foot Canada Training's Online Foot Care Nurse Theory courseand are ready to practice their Foot Care Nurse skills onsite with theguidance and supervision of a Foot Care Nurse Educator. The course usesthe Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses' National Competencies forAdvanced Nursing Foot Care Canada (2017) as Clinical PerformanceStandards and teaches a comprehensive, advanced and diabetic nursingfoot care curriculum.

This course provides in-person clinical foot care nurse skills developmentand mentorship. Together, both the FCN Theory and FCN Clinical coursesare designed to prepare participants to function as a Foot Care Nurse withina health care team. Students must start the FCN Clinical course within 12 months ofachieving a passing grade from the FCN Theory course.Applicants must hold a current non-restricted NursingRegistration/License from the British Columbia College of NursingProfessionals.Each student will need to bring a printed copy of the following on thefirst day of class:

Proof of at least $2 million in personal protective insurance(malpractice insurance).Current government issued photo ID.

Students must purchase an approved foot care kit prior to starting theFCN Clinical course. Information on where and how to purchase will beprovided during registration.
