Warning

Do not operate, maintain or repair the Freezer before reading this manual

Care should be taken when moving the unit as it is of considerable weight

The unit must be kept upright at all times (i.e. in working position)

Disconnect power source before maintaining or repairing the unit

CAUTION FLAMMABLE REFRIGERATION GAS

Do not steam clean, jet wash or use high-pressure hoses on, or in the vicinity of, this unit

Do not use mechanical devices or other means to accelerate the defrosting process.

A poorly maintained condenser loses its warranty cover and can result in compressor failure and freezer inefficiency

Chlorides or phosphates in cleansing agents (e.g. bleach, sanitizers, degreasers or deter-gents) could cause permanent damage to stainless steel equipment. The damage is usually in the form of discoloration, dulling of metal surface finish, pits, voids, holes or cracks. This damage is permanent and not covered by Warranty.

Installation and repairs should be undertaken by a qualified engineer

Only genuine H&K Ltd replacement parts should be used

Introduction

The Meat Freezer holding cabinet has been specifically designed for the McDonald’s corporation to hold pre-frozen patties at the regulated temperatures of between -18°C and -24°C.

Purchase record

This information should be entered upon receipt of meat freezer

UNIT1

Date installed

H&K Ltd quality number

H&K Ltd electrical number

These numbers can be found at the rear of the unit Please quote them in any relevant correspondence

Installation

Upon receipt of equipment inspect for damage. Any damaged parts should be reported to H&K Ltd

within 24 hours of receiving the unit.

The unit must be kept upright at all times (i.e. in working position) and used on a level surface.

A sufficient air circulation around the unit is necessary in order for the freezer to operate properly. A

minimum of 25mm clearance at the rear of the unit is required.

Temperature settings on the Controller have been factory pre-set and should not require adjustment.

Before initial start-up leave the freezer to stand for 2 hours without power. This is to prevent any

damage to the internal refrigeration components.

The Product Rack should be positioned inside the unit. This ensures that cold air is allowed to

circulate round the frozen product within the unit.

Operation

At initial start-up, after plugging in, allow 1 to 2 hours for the unit to reach operating temperature. The

lid must be closed during this chill-down period.

When operating temperature has been reached (-18 to -24°C), food product (which must be at least -

18°C prior to loading) may be loaded into the freezer.

The unit has been designed to be continually run but should be defrosted at regular intervals. H&K

recommend this should be done every 72hours of operation. See PM maintenance for retails.
