CD COVER ANALYSISBy Ryan Parsons
The cover shows a picture of a yellow sun which covers most of the front cover. The artist may have included the sun as a symbol of the bright future for the band and may relate to the songs included and linking to space exploration. The sun is painted on the cover.
The metal sardine can contains the members of the band. This is used by the cover designer to promote the band and to attract their targeted audience and advertising themselves. The connotations of the sardine can may represent the closeness their songs are on this album. The image is not painted on, it’s a 90s style photo
The text on the front cover is in lower cases. The style of the writing, its italics are in the style of space/SCI-FI and futuristic which can give a hint to the style of music which could be techno. This can link to the new style of music for the younger generation which is techno pop.
The back colour on the album is dark and this is because this links to the theme that the makers of the cover and the band decided to go with for this release.
The Bar code for the CD
The back cover contains a diagram of a futuristic music video. This image is hand drawn and can link to the theme of the cover and may link to the songs on the album. The image is labelled like a diagram and shows an input of music tracks as seen on the right side of the cover.
The tracks are listed on the right side of the back cove. All are numbered to show the order of the songs on the CD. The numbers which are listed go through different shades of different colours which adds a wider variety of colour onto the cover. Some of the song has blue symbols beside them which are covered inside the CD case as these songs have credits from outside sources
