• >70% human mortality
Assessment: Detection of H5N1 bird flu in Thailand, nine recent human deaths in Vietnam signal another possible seasonal spread. Low risk to CSF-536 units/ personnel – avoid contact with chickens, wild birds, pigs, foreign nationals with flu-like symptoms. 25 Jan 05
