Princess I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving. I sure did. It was wonderful seeing 4 new Explorers at our November Court meeting. I am looking forward to seeing you at future Court and Unit meetings and Court activities.

If anybody is interested in going to the institution of the new court in Savannah, the air fare at this time is a little over $400.00, however, the flights into Jacksonville, FL are less. If a few of you go, rent a car and drive to Savannah you could reduce the cost.

I have a request. Whatever left over Christmas wrap, ribbons, bows, tissue paper, etc. you have please save them for me. You can give them to me at our next court meeting. Thank you.

High Priestess MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR, to you all! May next year bring you health, happi-ness and plenty of new members. This year seems to have flown by. I feel like January 1st 2013, was only yesterday. Ladies, we’ve had to cancel most of our fund raisers and we need to come up with something for our

court. We have an opportunity to own a Keurig coffee maker at our February Stated meeting. Do be sure to get your opportunities on this great product. We are also planning a 50/50 opportunity in February. More information on this will be coming. Please feel free to contact me with other ideas as I’d appreciate all your ideas.

First Ceremonial Lady Merry Christmas to all! December will fly by fast with all the parties and family get-togethers on our calendars. While you are addressing your holiday cards to your local friends, consider recommending

them as new LOS Members. We’ll be having a Membership Tea in the Fiesta room at the Shrine Center on Feb-ruary 9th at 2pm. I’d like to make it a memorable event, but I need your help. I’ve only received one name so far for the upcoming Tea. Please take a minute to call or email me with your friends’ addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses (if they have one).

I’m still looking for new ways to promote LOS and Sphinx Court. If you hear of any event where we might be able to put out an information table (like Corn Fest), please let me know. Will your church or HOA be having a craft or yard sale? How about a fair or carnival? I’m hoping we can find some free events, but all ideas are wel-come.

Clowns The Clown Unit is having a busy holiday season with face painting events for the Shrine Kids Patient

Christmas Party and the American Legion for kids with parents who are overseas party. We enjoyed face painting at Robey Elementary School in Avondale and walking in the Florence Christmas Parade. We love to clown around for the holidays!!!

Our Christmas Party is December 15th starting at 4:00 PM when we welcome the Patrol Unit, family, and friends to the downtown Masonic Lodge, 345 W. Monroe St. (southeast corner of 4th Ave and Monroe), Phoenix, for a fun evening of clown Christmas games, door prizes, opportunities, and fun, fun, fun. The cost is $17.50 per person. Please make your reservations with Lady Karen MacDougall prior to December 6th. It promises to be a Clowning way to start the holiday!

Our January meeting will be held on January 9, 2014, with dinner in the Red Fez Room and meeting at 7:00 PM somewhere in the Shrine Center, we never know exactly where! The Clown Unit extends the Merriest of Holiday Greetings to you and yours!

and gone and we are now looking forward to Christmas and the New Year. We had our Holiday Party on December 1st and all had a really good time. Thanks to Lady Mary Hammer for

all her hard work. The Director Staff ladies prepare and serve the court dinners. Try to attend these dinners to support the Di-

Sphinx Patrol Greetings from the Sphinx Patrol! Aren’t the Holidays fun AND hectic? I love it and I’ll bet you do, too! Thanksgiving is over and now it’s time to

look to having a Merry Christmas or one of all of the other wonderful holidays of the season. Then, before you know it, it will be 2014. Remember to celebrate wisely!

Sphinx Patrol is looking forward to sharing the Christmas party with the Clowns again this year. I am just sorry that I have to miss it in order to see my Granddaughter, Kaleigh, graduate from college in Michigan. I know you’ll have a blast and I’ll be there next year!

I want to remind everyone that our Official Visit with Lady Dee Berkebile-Wright, HP, and her line officers is on January 7th so be sure to put it on your calendars. This would be a really good time for our new ladies to visit us. We will have a no-host dinner in the Red Fez room starting about 5:30 and we’d love to see you there. Don’t be shy -- just talk to me or any one of our Patrol Ladies. In the meantime, stay safe, busy, healthy, happy, and keep working for the kids!

Greeters Unit All members of Sphinx Court are invited to our December Christmas Party. It will be held on December 21, 2013, at 11:00 AM, Pappadeaux Restaurant, 11051 North Black Canyon Highway, Phoenix. The restaurant is on the access road going north between Peoria and Cactus. Reservations are required to Lady Kathy at 480-797-9601 not later than our Court Meeting on December 16, 2013. This is a social event and you are encouraged to bring your husbands, friends and any prospective members, for a pre-Christmas get-together Our next Unit meeting will be held on February 1, 2014. This meeting will be election of new officers and a review of our by-laws. More information will be available later. The Greeters wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a wonderful 2014.

PHP Club Hello everyone and Seasons Greetings. Now is the

time for the busy flurry of all the parties and Holiday gather-ings. I hope that everyone has plenty of Joy and Happi-ness this season!

As a re-cap from the last Past High’s meeting, we had LOTS of good questions from the line officers and good interaction with all the members helping to answer every-thing. We voted to present a motion at the November Court meeting that Sphinx Court submit a bid to host the 2017 WAOUM. The motion was presented in Court and passed.

The next PHP Meeting will be in February and it will be our election of officers.

May the Season’s Blessings fill you with the Spirit of the Season. God Bless you all.
