Some have defined motivation as an interplay between internal and external forces, as the resultant willpower of the interaction between your subconscious and conscious mind, the valuation of the goal you are trying to achieve, and your interaction with those around you.

Motivation can be summarized as the intensity of your desire to achieve a goal.

Most of us perform complex tasks at some point in our lives, the different levels of success some achieve at complex tasks usually depends not only on education, knowledge or expertise, many of the great achievements of mankind can be attributed to a highly motivated individual.

In life we usually face adverse winds, if your source of energy is internal and not depending on what happens to you, it cannot be put out by any wind.

The shortcut to discovering your purpose is to find your gift(s), likely there are many of them, but most of us are able to select the one that makes us most passionate, another approach will be to select one you can immediately apply in your current occupation;

There are various ways to acquire new skills, everyone is most apt at a particular way of learning, look for videos, attend a formal program, join a MOOC, read as much as you can on any subject that interests you and you have the ability to use in your current occupation, challenge yourself, my recommendation is do all of the above.

If you reach the point where you spend more time researching and discussing about the area where your talent is most evident or the complementary skills you’ve acquired, you can confidently say you are a driven individual.

The next step to learn how to motivate others will be to coach a peer you identify with. If you identify with this person you’ll eliminate quite a deal of uncertainty from the equation, isolating the skills you really want to work with at this point.

Successful transmission of your drive to your coachee will imply you have developed the ability to motivate those around you, however this task is as complex as the human mind, the more you practice, the higher your chances of success.

To further develop your ability to motivate others become a leader in everything you do, only by facing increasingly complex scenarios, and overcoming difficulties will you become a true leader, remember the best guide in every difficult journey is the one who knows the way.

No amount of practice will ever prepare you for every possible scenario, however the skills you acquire in one scenario serve as a platform that gets you closer to resolving any you have not faced yet.

Remember learning is the bridge between what you are and what you can be, and it is a never ending journey, the road to perfection is not simple, but if we learn to love what we do we’ll be that much stronger when the goal seems far away and the climb steep.

If you think about it you will conclude, learning is the goal of life itself.
