SPELL BOUND is the penultimate book in my Otherworld series – only one more to go! I’ve been building towards this since I first decided to turn I’ve been building towards this since I first decided to turn BITTEN into a series. With the second book, STOLEN, I intro-duced twelve-year-old Savannah, who would grow up over the course of the series and take charge for the final trilogy. That seemed fitting. Not only have readers seen her grow from a child to a ‘woman of the Otherworld’, but she’s the character most tightly connected to all the other narrators.

She was adopted by Paige Winterbourne, grew up spending summers with Elena Michaels and the werewolves, is the daughter of my ghostly narrator Eve Levine, a huge fan of celebrity necromancer Jaime Vegas and a friend of chaos half-demon Hope Adams. Through Savannah, then, all those narrators can be pulled back into this final adventure, starting with SPELL BOUND and continuing through book 13.

I’ve been planning for this conclusion in other ways, too, I’ve been planning for this conclusion in other ways, too, building in unresolved plot points through the second half of the series. Ever wondered what happened with the immortality experiments from BROKEN? The spell-casting humans from NO HUMANS INVOLVED? Jaz from PERSONAL DEMON? The clairvoyant baby taken by the Nasts in LIVING WITH THE DEAD? Elena’s journey to alpha-hood in FROSTBITTEN? And, most recently, how the heck the ‘killer’ from WAKING THE WITCH got free? It’s all revisited in SPELL BOUND. Everything had a purpose and with these last two books, I finally get the chance to show where these seemingly unrelated occurrences were heading.

I’ve been playing in the Otherworld for over a decade now. It’s been an absolute blast. I’ll be sorry to leave it, but I plan to go out with a bang. And I know this world will always be here, should I decide to return for an extra adventure or two. Kelley
