1.1 INTRODUCTIONThe smallest batching controller in the world.Using up to-date delta-sigma A/D converter to achieve a higher speed and higher accuracy for the batching or packing system. Built in RS232 or RS485 is selectable as standard feature(Factory preset)Multi-drop or long distance communication is possible by using RS485. Sophisticated software has provided for different batching system application.

1.2 DEFINITIONDead weight:The output voltage of the load cell in response to the weight of the platform.

Division:The ratio of step width to multiplier. The value of division can only be one of the followings: 1, 2, 5.

Excitation voltage:The voltage that supplied by the indicator to the load cell.

Final setpoint:The target weight of the material to be batched.

Free fall setpoint:When the reading of CB920X is greater than or equal to the final setpoint valueless the free fall setpoint value, the fine relay contact will be turn off.

Free fall value:The average increase in reading after the coarse and fine relay contact had to be turn off due to the free fall of work in process material.

Load cell:Load cell is a device that converts force to electronic voltage. A load cell consists of two parts. The first part is a sensor that can be linear distorted according to the force applied to it. The second part is the strain gauge element which changes its resistance according to the distortion of the sensor.

Load cell rated output:The output voltage from the load cell divided by the excitation voltage.

Maximum capacity:The maximum figure ignoring decimal point that designed to be used by the indicator.

Multiplier:The multiplier determine the position of the decimal point or the number of tailing zero added to the internal reading. For example:If the internal reading is 234,

    Multiplier Display on indicator10 23401 234.1 23.4.01 2.34.001 .234.0001 .0234

Preliminary setpoint:When the reading of CB920X is greater than or equal to the final setpoint valueless the preliminary setpoint value, the coarse output contact will be turned off.

Resolution:The ratio of the maximum capacity and division.

Span:The change of reading from the indicator in response to the change of standard weight applied.

Automatic fine setpoint correction:Fine setpoint(new)=fine setpoint(old)-[(final setpointresult material net value) /2]The correction is performed at the end of each batch process. The fine setpoint value in memory is updated after all materials are batched, and the revised fine setpoint will be used in the next time.No correction is made if fine setpoint(new)is minus.Fine setpoint (new)is set to coarse 1 if fine setpoint(new)is equal to or greaterthan coarse. Fine setpoint(new)will be set to 999 if fine setpoint(new)is greater than 999.

TDC:Time delay for discharge control. At discharge process, the discharge control will be deactivated 0.1 to 9.9 seconds after the gross weight is less than the zero band. Set range is 01to 99(i.e. 0.1 seconds to 9.9 seconds).

TTC:Time delay for tolerance check. At batching process, tolerance will be check with 0.1to 9.9 seconds delay after the fine control is deactivated. Set range is 01 to 99(i.e. 0.1seconds to 9.9 seconds).

OPERATING MODE FOR RS232/RS485:(a) Command Mode(PRO):

After all materials is batched, a "ENQ" message will send out through RS232/RS485. When "ACK" command is received by CB920X, the batch reportwill send out through RS232/RS485. There is no report sending out if start command is activated before "ACK" command is received.

The No. of times of report output is not limited, the report will be cleared when next production is started.

    (b) Continuous Mode(CONT):Weighing data will be transferred continuously without any input command to

the RS232/RS485 port. Besides, batch report will send automatically afterbatching is completed.

    (c) Automatic Mode(AUTO): A "READ" command is required for reading weighing data from CB920X. However, the batching report will send automatically after batching is completed.

3.1 GENERAL RULES Do not install the CB920X in direct sunshine, and avoid sudden temperature changes, vibration, or wind. Best performance is achieved when temperature is about 20/68 and the relative humidity is about 50%.

Ground the CB920X via the power cable to the rear terminal and ensure a good ground connection. Do not ground directly to other equipment. Analog input/output signals are sensitive to electrical noise. Do not bind these cables together as it could result in cross-talk interference. Please also keep them well away from AC power cable, and keep all cable/coax as short as possible.

If the local AC electrical supply fluctuates by more than 10% an AC regulator must be used in order to stabilize the power supply and reduce power spikes.

3.2 INPUT SENSITIVITY OF LOAD CELL

The input sensitivity (A) of load cell can be calculated from the following formula.

A = [Load cell output voltage at scale capacity-Load cell output voltage at dead load] Step width / Scale capacity

CB920X requires that "A" must be greater than or equal to 0.5V per division.

3.3 CONNECTING THE LOAD CELL TO THE INDICATOR

The analog output from the Load Cell and the RS232 input/output signals are sensitive to electrical noise. Do not bind these cables together as it could result incross-talk interference. Please also keep them well away from the AC power cables.

Attention: Please note that the idea if free fall is based up on the concept of solids falling(After the flow has been cut to zero) from a supply bin into a weighing hopper. When liquids are being added to a weighing hopper, wave propagation must be kept to a minimum to avoid load oscillation. If a submerged filling plan isemployed(which may zero free fall) liquid displacement must be take into consideration.

3.13 BASIC OPERATIONConnection the power cable, the indicator will flag that there has been a power interruption with the display , if this display occurs at any other time you should regard it as a warning that volatile memory(weighing event data)will have been lost. Please allow a warm-up period to achieve thermal stability in the load cell and indicator. Zero will drift initially. To sustain thermal stability you should keep the indicator on.Set and calibrate the indicator as described in the function setting, the setpoint setting and calibration section. When the production start button as shown in connection for control output and input is pressed and the released, production is immediately and materials are batched one by based on the setpoint entered(i.e. from M1, M2, M3, M4).
