earthshare cause campaign: frequently asked questions

Environment & HealthThe interconnectedness of life on earth means that nothing we put into the ecosystem simply disappears. What we do to the planet, we do to ourselves. Pollutants reach humans through the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe, and can endanger our health in both immediate and long-lasting ways.

EarthShare members are researching and reporting on the chemicals in our food system and personal care products, protecting our air and water, and so much more.

Environmental EducationA sustainable and healthy environment requires well-trained leaders capable of developing creative solutions to future challenges. Environmental education also builds awareness in our communities of how to live in a way that conserves resources for the future.

EarthShare members are reconnecting youth with nature, growing a green workforce, teaching community members about our natural resources, and fostering a generation of informed conservationists.

Climate Change & EnergyClimate change is one of the most serious public health threats facing our planet. Overwhelming scientific consensus and real-life impacts tell us that global warming is real, is caused by human activity, and is a significant threat to our health, economy and environment. We have the power and the responsibility to support solutions.

EarthShare members are committed to addressing the causes and impacts of climate change, as well as advocating for bold sustainable energy solutions.

earthshare cause campaign: frequently asked questions

Forests, Parks & Land ConservationProtecting land is more than just preserving picturesque landscapes. Plants, animals, and humans depend on the systems nature provides. Open green spaces, parks, public lands, and farms and ranches all serve an important role in healthy landscapes and healthy ecosystems.

From the Adirondacks to the Amazon, and all the green spaces in between, your donation helps protect one of our planet’s most important natural resources.

Water IssuesThe world’s waters face severe challenges in the years ahead. Runoff from industrial processes are polluting our rivers, lakes, and oceans. Scarcity of fresh water is becoming a global public health concern, causing increasing conflicts between people as well as a loss of biodiversity when aquatic habitats disappear or are irreversibly damaged.

But you can help! EarthShare members are addressing water scarcity and pollution, conserving marine life, and seeking solutions to climate change-driven impacts on our oceans and water supply.

Wildlife ProtectionThe loss of a single species is a tragic event and yet we lose an estimated 10,000 species to extinction each year. Species extinctions not only throw ecosystems out of balance but can impact our food system, economy, and eliminate potential scientific and medical breakthroughs.

EarthShare members preserve biodiversity, address wildlife trafficking, create national parks providing critical habitat, respond to disasters affecting wildlife populations, and ensure the future of many species on this planet.
