MASS INTENTIONS My Appreciation During this past Holy Week, our parish came together to celebrate the most sacred events of our Lord Jesus Christ surround-ing his passion, death and Resurrection. Our Parish community shared much of what makes our community special: time, talent, reflection and generosity of heart. This year, many families worked hard to be a part of what the Holy Week brings to us as an inevitable step to Resurrection. Our participation in the service of the church through the washing of feet that led us to the beautiful Adoration; the Passion of our Lord that moved us to contemplation and gratitude; the Easter Vigil where we com-memorate the words of the prophets, the beginning of our faith. Truly a week of endless gifts of one’s willingness to share our faith and our bread. Thank you to all parishioners of St. Jude’s for participating, the Choir for bringing solemnity to our cel-ebrations with the beautiful songs, the Lec-tors, the Altar servers, Ministers of the Ho-ly Communion, Ushers, the team who dec-orated the church, the counter team who donate their time each Sunday to count our offertory, and all other volunteers that day after day contribute in many ways to our Parish. Thank you all! May God shower his blessings upon us abundantly this East-er Season because Christ is Risen. Fr. Josue Vargas Lara

Divine Mercy Sunday During the course of Jesus' revelations to Saint Fausti-na on the Divine Mercy, he asked on numerous oc-casions that a feast day be dedicated to the Divine Mercy and that this feast be celebrated on the Sun-day after Easter. The litur-gical texts of that day, the

2nd Sunday of Easter, concern the institu-tion of the Sacrament of Penance, the Tri-bunal of the Divine Mercy, and are thus already suited to the request of Our Lord. This Feast, which had already been granted to the nation of Poland and been celebrated within Vatican City, was granted to the Universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the canonization of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000.

ShareLife Living the Gospel through im-mediate mental health services Mental health problems can esca-late if not addressed quickly. That’s why the five Catholic

Family Services agencies in the Archdio-cese of Toronto now offer walk-in counsel-ling. This initiative can often meet clients’ need without requiring longer term coun-selling. Clients report a clinically signifi-cant increase in confidence that they can tackle their problems. By supporting ShareLife, you’re helping restore hope to those in crisis. April 22 is the next Share-Life Sunday.

Mass Intentions We ask the community to kindly request mass intentions ahead of time. Mass inten-tions to be announced on weekend masses and days of the following week must be requested by Wednesday of each week. We cannot change dates for mass inten-tions previously requested. Thank you for your understanding and your co-operation.

St. Vincent De Paul Food Drive St Jude's Parish will be holding a food drive during the Easter Season to help support the St. Vincent De Paul Food Bank in our Parish. This is an excellent opportunity to make a differ-ence in the lives of many and a positive impact on our community. Thank you for your continued support of our SVDP food bank. Planning to be a Catholic School Teacher?

It is critical for you to know that to be hired to teach in any Catholic School Board in Ontario as part of your applica-tion for employment you must provide a letter of recommendation from your Pas-tor. It is highly recommended to contact the pastor a year in advance, especially in light of the fact that all universities make this matter known to every student at the beginning of the year. Please plan to have a conversation with your pastor early in the process (not the week before you are submitting your application) and you will avoid disappointment and stress

at the time when applications are to be submitted. The following are required at St. Jude’s: Be (yourself, not your parents or

grandparents) a registered member of the parish using offertory envelopes (at least 1 year before the application).

Be in the parish for participation in Sunday/Saturday mass for a minimum of 12 months prior to approaching the pastor.

Make your request 3 months in ad-vance. Applicant must be the one mak-ing the requests.

No request by a relative or a parent will be accepted .

The pastor has to be able to recommend you, and that is only possible if he knows you at the basic level of regular mass attendance. Personal knowledge of the candidate’s faith practice is what the pas-tor needs to recommend, not your rela-tives, but yourself, as this is a personal recommendation not a family one.

EASTER IS THE GIFT... Easter is the gift of HOPE Easter is the gift of PEACE Easter is the gift of LOVE

Let us rejoice in Him, Who gives them all.

May God bless you at Easter, And keep you all year through.

May God give you all the faith it takes, to make your dreams come

true. May His love and wisdom always help, to guide you on your way.

May His light shine down upon you now, to bless your Easter Day.
