Quiz Competition 2015 RULES and REGULATIONS:

. Each team must consist of 2 members. Two teams are allowed from one institute.. Registration fee for one team is Rs. 300/-. If however two teams register from one institute, a total of Rs. 500/- has to be paid collectively for both the teams.. All the teams must report on time.. All the answers are to be written on the sheets provided in the preliminary round.. 25 seconds will be given to answer each question in the preliminary round and 20 seconds in the rest of the rounds besides Buzzer round. 10 seconds in Buzzer round.. In the oral rounds, the answer once spoken will be final. It will not be allowed to change.. The participants will not be allowed to answer after the given time is up.. An interesting Entertainment category based audience round will also be conducted.

. There will be refreshments for the participants. . Decision of the jury will be final.. The teams will be questioned from, but not limited to, the following categories:

i) Current Affairs

ii) Arts & Literature

iii) Entertainment

iv) Sports

v) Geography & History

vi) Religion & Mythology

FORMAT:

1. PRELIMINARY ROUND :

This is a written round. Forty questions will be asked. It will contain questions from every category. There might be multimedia questions too among them.

2. SEMI FINALS (Oral Rounds):

The top 10 teams of the preliminary round will be participating.The semi-final round will comprise of:1) General Round (4 Questions),2) Pictorial Round (4 Questions).

1) General Round:Four questions will be asked. Each question will carry 10 points.2) Pictorial Round: Teams will be shown four pictures and asked one relevant question will be asked with each picture. Each question will carry 10 points.

3. FINALS (Oral Rounds):

The top 5 teams will qualify for the FINALS to be held on the same day.

1) Individual Round (3 questions):3 Questions will be asked from each team member. Each question carries 10 points. (The participants will not be allowed to discuss in this round. If anyone is found violating the rule, the question will be skipped with no credit.)

2) Category round (6 questions):Each team will pick 2 separate categories. Each category will have 3 questions. Each question carries 10 points.

3) Audiovisual round (6 questions):Each team will be given 1 audio clip and 1 video clip. 3 questions will be asked from each clip. Each question carries 10 points.

4) Multimedia Buzzer Round(15 questions):The team that presses buzzer first gets to answer. If that team fails to answer the question in the given time, a second chance will be given to the team that pressed the buzzer after the first team. 20 points for each correct answer. 10 points will be deducted if the team guesses it wrong.
