FOREWORD

This show 'Creative Portrait Art Exhibition 2016’ reveals aesthetic emotions and cognitive state of mind of an artist be it a painter, photographer or a graphic designer.A portrait is a painting, photograph, sculpture, or other artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. The intent is to display the likeness, personality, and even the mood of the person.Portrait art existed throughout the ages as documenting the existence of man after death. However, portrait painting is reduced to great extent by the invention of Camera. With the passage of time photography is also considered as visual form of art.The present exhibition is curated by Kishore Shanker Founder of ARTinfoINDIA.COM with the motive to show the creative qualities of portrait artists of various streams who have infused aesthetic expression in their art.

'Creative Portrait Art Exhibition 2016' is an exposition by 30 artists of India displaying varied mediums of their visual languages like paintings, drawing, photographs and graphics. The participating artists include- Aarti Sharma, Anju Kulchania, Ashok Mahakur, Bhushan Saini, Girija Shankar, H Mohinder Singh, Ishwar Gupta, Kajal Nalwa, Kishore Shanker, Manju Bhudhwar, Namrta Singh, Neeraj Sharma, Pankaj Kumar Saxena, Paramjeet Kaur, Pawan Julana, Prince Raj, Pritiranjan Mallick, Radhika Surana, Rajpal Kaalia, Ritu Arora, Santosh Kaalia, Shakti Singh, Shaveta Choudhary, Sheena Jain, Shraboni Banerji, Sudhir Tripurari, Swati Joshi Phatak, Tulika Kukreti, Vandana Zadoo and Vinod Chauhan.

ARTinfoINDIA.COM, an organization dedicated to the field of Visual Arts in India is based in Gurgaon- Haryana. It has been managed by a team of artists and professionals and been actively promoting art in its original form. We have been active in organizing various art events as exhibitions, workshops, projects and ardently working to bring awareness among young children and youth through programs like children workshops and competitions. We have recently hosted the 4th All India Art Competition for School Children 'Lotus-The National Flower' to sensitize / motivate / educate young and budding children through art towards the importance of our National Symbols.

Anju Kulchania born in year 1993. She did B. Tech. in Electrical Engineering from Vaish College of Engineering, Rohtak (affiliated to MDU University) in 2013.

At present she is pursuing M.A. (Fine Arts) from Raja Mansingh Tomar University, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.

Exhibitions:Solo painting exhibition and honoured by the ex- minister of Haryana Govt. Smt. Savatri Jindal in 2014. Group painting exhibition organized by Sanskar Bharti and inaugurated by the CM of Haryana, Mr. Manohar Lal Khattar. Participated in Lifestyle Exhibition which was held in Ambience Mall, Gurgaon 2016.

Ashok Mahakur was born in the year 1983. He did B.F.A. from Utkal University of Culture, Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2007.

Awards : 1st State Award by DCAC, Bhubaneswar, Odisha- 2006 and 3rd State Award by JCMA, Jajpur, Odisha in 2005.

Bhushan Saini born in year 1979 at Narnaul, Haryana. He did M.A. English from Agra University, M.A. Drawing & Painting from Jivaji University, Gwalior and Ph.D in Drawing and Painting from Chaudhary Charan Singh University, Meerut.

At present he is working as a Lecturer in Faridabad, Haryana.

At present he is working as a freelance artist at Sirsa, Haryana.

Neeraj Sharma was born in the year 1969 at New Delhi. A bachelor's degree holder from College of Arts, Chandigarh and Diploma holder in Movie Camera and Lighting Techniques from AAFT, Noida. As a Fine Art Photographer he has many National and International assignments to his credit. He also takes photography classes and organises photo workshops for camera enthusiasts.

In his entire career, he has worked in a variety of industries, say Fashion, Food, Product, People, Interior, Corporate, Event, Industrial, Editorial and Travel photography and his works have been published in most of the leading magazines and corporate brochures/catalogues in India & abroad.

He has witnessed many renowned political, religious and fashion developments/events in India's history - be it the visit of former US President Mr. Bill Clinton or Pope John Paul-II or Miss Universe. Another milestone of his career is a Coffee Table Book named “AT HOME-ACROSS THE WORLD. He is among one of the internationally acclaimed photographers, whose finest of the images have found place in this coffee table book. This book was released by the Hon. Prime Minister of India on Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, 2009.

Pritiranjan MallickGuru Ji / Paper Work / 36x24 Inches

Pritiranjan Mallick was born in the year 1976 in Orissa. Initially he started his career as a cartoonist. A Master's degree in Fine Arts from Gulbarga University, Karnataka and A graduate from BK College of Arts and Craft, Bubaneshwar. He has imparted his knowledge as an art teacher in various renowned schools.Besides his painting skills, he has proficiency in origami.

Presently he is working with Manav Rachna International School, Gurgaon.

Radhika SuranaShivram-Varanasi / Acrylic & Charcoal on Canvas / 40x30 Inches

Radhika Surana a graduate in Fine Arts from Rajasthan University. She completed the four year degree course and a topper in painting faculty. She has worked as an apprentice for five years with Sh. Dwarka Prasad Sharma a very well known artist in Jaipur (1987-1991). She has also worked under Mr Charlie Rapsky a well known artist in Toronto Canada (1990)

Radhika is also a Indian classical vocalist (Hindustani) . She has a master's degree in Indian classical music and still pursuing training under the guidance of Pt Sarathi Chatterjee. She had solo performances in Udaipur and Gurgaon, at India Habitat Centre Delhi, Patna , and Varanasi.

Rajpal KaaliaSabka Maalik Ek / Oil on Canvas / 21x28 Inches

Rajpal Kalia was born in the year 1974 at Panipat, Haryana. He is a self taught artist and worked under senior artist Sh Ramesh Ahuja for 3 years (1991-1993) and under the senior artist Sh. Som Dutt (1994-1996).

Ritu Arora was born in the year 1978 at Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. She did MA (Fine Art) from Raja Mansingh Toomar University, Gwalior and graduation from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.She conducted more than 50 Art Workshops in different institutions. She is registered as a craftsperson by Office of the Development Commissioner- Handicrafts under Govt. of India and President of Kala Milan Club. She organised an exhibition on social issues in association with Kala Sadhna Mandal.

Santosh Kaalia was born in the year 1977. She is self a taught artist.

Shakti Singh Ahlawat was born in the year 1967 at Rohtak. He did B.F.A. from Government College of Arts, Chandigarh in year 1991

He was awarded “The Manjit Bawa Award” by the Government of Haryana in the year 2010.He is mostly into portraits and figurative works. Portraits done by him are in display in several museums in India. He has done portraits of Dr A.P.J Abdul kalam, Dr.Pranab Mukherjee and Mr. Navin Chandra Ramgoolam (The Prime Minister of Mauritius). He has attended National Art Festival at Aizwal, Mizoram, organized by Lalit Kala Akademy in 2010.

He displays a tendency to learn on the linearity of strokes. Strong with line, he has also produced some fine paintings such as “Krishna”His paintings are in collection with Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum- New delhi, Govt. Museum- Chandigarh, National Gallery of Portraits- Chandigarh, War Museum- Ludhiana, Raj Bhawan Haryana- Chandigarh, Punjab Bhawan- New Delhi, Hotel North Park- Panchkula, Haryana and with various film artists and in private collection in India and abroad.

Shaveta ChoudharyUntitled 1 / Water Color on Archival Paper / 22x30 Inches

Shaveta Choudhary was born in the year 1977 a painter, web creative designer and visual artist, has studied Commercial Art (3 years) from South Delhi Polytechnic, Multimedia Computers from Aptech Arena and B.A from Delhi University. He worked as a Senior Creative Designer for 10 years. Currently he is working as an independent artist creating paintings/art.

About her works:She believes that portraits are loaded with energy and always fascinate. She strives to attain realistic drawings & paintings with implementing her conceptual ideas. She says that there should be a discourse between the viewer and the subject, to feel as though they are connected.

Sheena JainEnlightened / Oil on Canvas / 20x16 Inches

Sheena Jain was born in the year 1991. She did MCA from Kurukshetra University.

Currently she is working with senior artist Sh. Rajpal Kaalia since 2015. She is a member of Kala Sadhna Mandal (Regd.)

Shraboni BanerjiEvolution / Oil on Canvas / 36x36 Inches

Shraboni Banerji was born in Kolkata and brought up in Rourkela. She did her Graduation in English literature from University of Allahabad. She has also learnt Hindustani Classical Music from Prayag Sangeet Samiti, Allahabad. She has a passion for art and is a self taught artist. Having a flair for sketching since childhood ,she took up art professionally since 2007.

Vinod Chauhan was born in the year 1966 at Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. He studied in St. Edwards School Shimla and a stint of College in Chandigarh followed by Bachelors of Engineering (EC & T) from Aurangabad, Mahrashtra in year 1990He is a hobbyist photographer. He clicked images to be cherished by all art lovers.
