Introduction
7,5 milion population (similar to Austria) 32.000 km2 (similar to Denmark) 15% of Spanish population 20% of Spanish GDP 25% of Spanish industry 30% of Spanish foreign trade
With a population similar to Bulgaria and Austria, a GDP greater than Finland and the
Czech Republic and similar to Denmark’s, Catalonia’s economic position in Europe is not
to be forgotten. Its exports are similar to Portugal’s, and superior to countries like
Romania and Greece. Its GDP per capita is 14,4% above the European average (EU-27),
and greater than the UK’s and Italy’s.

The Digital Revolution Context
10
“We need very fast Internet for the economy to grow strongly and to create jobs and prosperity, and to ensure citizens can access the
content and services they want.”1

In conclusion, Rural Smart Grids ... - Increase the resilience of their networks - Increase their hosting capacity - No need for new investments in the current network
except for the cost of the IDPR - reduce loses
