A few things to note:
► Equipment needs to be registered to have an SOS sample attached – if asset is not registered, please
e-mail [email protected] with serial number, unit # and customer DCN.
► Each SOS sample requires their own individual sample barcode
► It is very important to indicate whether the Filter or Fluid was changed with each sample for accurate lab
recommendations
► The SOS function attempts to make a live call to an API to get the list of valid compartments for the
given serial number. When there is no internet connection, a default list of 20 most used compartments
is displayed. Technicians to use the Notes section to indicate compartment
► The following is an example of what the SOS sample bottles will look like:

Receiving Samples in the Lab
Samples pre-registered through Cat Inspect are received in
the same way as all other pre-registered samples:
• Access Sample login screen
• In Serial Number field, hit CTRL-S
• Scan or manually enter sample number (barcode)
• All sample information provided by the
customer/technician in the Cat Inspect App displays
• Lab Technician logs the sample• New sample created in SOS with dealer lab number
• Original sample number (barcode) is cancelled in SOS
