Truck owners may simply upgrade the exhaust tubing itself to a larger size, not realizing that airflow restriction is happening before the exhaust gasses even reach that point. The cast exhaust manifolds available from ATS Diesel are a great way to expand airflow and reduce restriction while eliminating the weak spots which are found with the stock exhaust manifolds. As the diesel engine performs its job, the temperature of the exhaust manifold sees rapid shifts from hot to cool, and the metal experiences a substantial amount of expansion and contraction. Due to a thinner wall structure and lower-grade materials used for casting on such a large scale, the heating and cooling cycles eventually cause the factory manifold to crack. Once the manifold is cracked, the exhaust gasses which power the turbo begin to escape and cause inefficiency. ATS Diesel’s exhaust manifolds are cast from an exclusively blended High-Silicon-Moly (or SiMo Ductile) metal alloy, which offers much greater strength and heat resistance, due to increased stability of the material’s microstructure versus other Part Number Application 204-930-2164 1994-1998 Dodge 12-Valve, 3-Piece Exhaust Manifold 204-930-2218 1998.5-2002 Dodge 24-Valve, 3-Piece Exhaust Manifold 204-920-2272 2003-2007 Dodge 5.9L Common Rail Cummins, 2-Piece Exhaust Manifold 204-943-2164 Pulse Flow Wide Flange T4 Exhaust Manifold, 3-Piece - 1994-Early 1998 Dodge 5.9L 12-Valve Cummins 204-943-2218 Pulse Flow Wide Flange T4 Exhaust Manifold, 3-Piece - 1998.5-2002 Dodge 5.9L 24-Valve Cummins 30% larger internal diameter for increased airflow and reduced back-pressure Cast from High-Silicon-Moly Alloy Compatible with aftermarket and OEM turbochargers Ceramic coating applied for heat containment and water resistance Expansion joints allow for expansion and contraction without cracking

Casting-Out Weakness And Restriction With ATS Exhaust ManifoldsATS Diesel Manifolds Provide Superior Airflow And Prevent Cracking And Overheating

One of the base components needed for a successful diesel truck upgrade path, that is often overlooked, is the exhaust manifold.

ATS Diesel’s exhaust manifolds are cast from an exclusively blended High-Silicon-Moly (or SiMo Ductile) metal alloy, which offers much greater strength and heat resistance, due to increased stability of the material’s microstructure versus other alternatives.

In addition to having larger mandrel-shaped internal ports for increased airflow and reduced back-pressure, the ATS manifolds feature a special multi-piece design in which the sections are connected by a ball flange, which allows the manifold to expand and contract during engine heat cycles, without cracking or breaking (which becomes even more important with engine power upgrades - due to increased hot/cold temperature differentials).
