Cassi® II Rotational Core Ultrasound Breast BiopsyCassi® II is a hand-held, self-contained biopsy device that provides highly accurate, targeted tissue sampling while delivering more biopsy tissue in fewer passes.
Using ultrasound guidance, the Cassi® II 19-Gauge guide needle is easily maneuvered through breast tissue and positioned precisely through the targeted lesion.
Patented Stick-Freeze Technology® immobilizes the lesion as the 10-Gauge or 12-Gauge rotating cutting cannula advances into the secured tissue.
The result is a large, intact sample of contiguous tissue from the targeted area.
Cassi® II is a versatile device you can rely on for today’s breast
biopsy challenges.
Stick-FreezeTechnology®
No forward throw eliminates the risk of hitting critical structures behind the lesion, such as thorax wall, vessels, implants, etc. Patented Stick Freeze Technology® ensures the target lesion is immobilized and remains fixed to the 19-Gauge guiding needle during the sampling process 19-Gauge guiding needle allows for easy navigation of dense breast tissue Produces large 10-Gauge or 12-Gauge contiguous core samples Cassi® II enables you to biopsy patients with challenging breast lesions of varying tissue density and location
Cassi® II Rotational Core Ultrasound Breast Biopsy
Versatility Works across wide range of lesion types
and locations.
Cassi® II enables you to biopsy patients with challenging breast lesions such as those in dense
breast tissue, fibroadenomas, lesions located against the chest wall, in the axilla, in lymph nodes,
lesions close to breast implants and close to the skin surface.1
In these more challenging cases, Cassi® II’s “No forward-throw” feature helps you easily
and safely collect samples without impacting tissue and structures beyond the lesion.
Cassi® II allows you to navigate around vessels to reach lesions which may minimize bleeding
and tissue trauma.
The low-profile, 19-Gauge guide needle facilitates dense breast tissue navigation while
still producing large 10-Gauge or 12-Gauge cores.

Cassi® II secures the tissue sample you need every time. The core samples from Cassi®II 10-Gauge and 12-Gauge cannulas provide large amount of tissue, minimizing the number of samples needed for histological examination.
Accuracy Accesses targeted lesion with pinpoint
precision.
Cassi® II’s 19-Gauge guide needle can be precisely placed in the center of the targeted lesion and confirmed under
ultrasound guidance.
Real-time ultrasound confirmation of needle placement in the lesion
prior to sampling eliminates excision of non-targeted breast tissue.

Beacon™ Breast Tissue Marker The Beacon™ Breast Tissue Marker, due to its non-metal nature, has low MRI artifact compared to metal tissue markers and has low ring-down artifact in Tomosynthesis.
The Beacon™ Breast Tissue Marker is the first marker made of Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) Polymers, which are used routinely in surgical implants and dental devices.
Proven biocompatibility allows for permanent placement in breast tissue.
The Beacon™ Breast Tissue Marker pairs well with Cassi® II device.
Beacon™ Breast Tissue Marker Permanently visible under - Ultrasound - X-Ray - Mammography - Tomosynthesis - MRI (up to 3.0 Tesla field strength) Designed for safe, reliable and precise placement during core biopsies Unique shape designed to prevent migration Biocompatible composition First marker made of Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) Polymers

Cassi® Star Tissue MarkerThe Cassi® Star Tissue Marker has been developed for enhanced ultrasound visibility. Its star shape, with eight deep cut edges, secures bright reflection of ultrasound waves and is easily distinguished from other breast tissue markers under mammographic imaging.
Due to its non-metal nature, it has low MRI artifact compared to metal tissue markers and has low ring-down artifact in Tomosynthesis.
The Cassi® Star Tissue Marker is made of Polyetherketoneketone (PEKK) Polymers which are used routinely in surgical implants and dental devices.
PEKK provides permanent visibility in all imaging modalities and does not have additional materials that can cause the marker to expand or change form over time.
Proven biocompatibility allows for permanent placement in breast tissue.
