The project consisted of the construction of nine units for student accommodation inside the existing Milperra campus of University of Western Sydney. The construction consisted of four separate buildings with slab on ground, cavity brickwork and steel truss roof structure. Due to the tight programme requirements of the client, Quasar redesigned the ground slabs from deep beam on engineered fill to piers and shallow ground beams which dramatically saved time on the programme. The completion date was the 30th June 2008 with the University already committed to lease arrangement with overseas students. This smarter building approach contributed to the completion of the project on time.
