Independent Researcher, University of Iowa (Aug. 2000 to July 2005) Duties: Completed various research projects, including examination of the role of personality

traits in personality disorders and substance use, collection and analysis of personality data from an outpatient clinic, and examination of the structure of impulsivity using personality and neuropsychological tests, which was the core of my dissertation. The later project was financed by the University of Iowa Department of Neurology ($8,000) and the University of Minnesota Press ($1,000). As part of my research, I supervised several undergraduate research assistants, conducted weekly lab meetings, and supervised students in the development and completion of senior honors theses.

authorship of a longitudinal study designed to examine predictors of marital relationship quality in newlywed couples. Trained and supervised undergraduate assistants in the administration and scoring of brief cognitive skills tests, as well as supervised a student in the development of web-based surveys for this project.

Internship Task Force, Iowa Psychological Association (Aug. 2007 to 2012) Duties: In 2007, the Iowa State Legislature provided IPA with $50,000 to explore avenues for

increasing psychology positions in the state. The Task Force was charged with administering the funds to create a master plan for attracting and retaining new psychologists into the state by (a) expanding existing programs and (b) creating new programs. Responsibilities included attending meetings, helping to shape decisions and policy of postdoctoral program. From 2008 through 2011, the Legislature provided IPA with additional moneys (totaling $185,000) to conduct a pilot program at multiple sites throughout the state.
