Cases will make people responsible

Usually people (including me), say that things in India are bad. We get away from responsibilities as a citizen by saying that it’s because of the politicians.

But once we get a platform like e-swaraj. It will make us responsible for whatever is happening around us. Because it will empower us to start a reform, get help and take through result.

Page 13: Cases - the backbone of e-swaraj

Starting a case- details

• A case can be ideated in the forum section. Anyone can start a discussion and put facts in front of other members and build upon a case which has facts and proofs enough to graduate to the main case section of the website.

• A case should have following format:

– Title of the proposed case– Why is it important– Location of the case– Topics/tags of the case– Specific targets– Details and facts– References to news/documents and people supporting the case

• There will be a voting and if the case meets the criteria and enough supporters then it would graduate to the case section of the e-swaraj and get a unique Case-ID

• The geo location etc will help in finding cases based on location.

• Tags will help in finding cases according to different keywords

Page 14: Cases - the backbone of e-swaraj

Case website

• The case database website can be used to find cases and start supporting any case. Based on location (google maps) or topics/tags etc.

• Tags would be like the location of the case, department, topic etc.

• Once you support a case you will get email regarding latest happenings or help requirements.

• You can strengthen the case by giving information, facts or any documents/proofs if you have it.

• Your identity can be hidden as you can simply snail mail though post to the case leaders who will upload the information on the website.

• Even common people who do not know how to use internet would be able to send information to the case leaders to make the case stronger.

Why n how cases section will bring results?

Page 16: Cases - the backbone of e-swaraj

Cases will never get “forgotten”

The problem with common day to day issues is that the media and the public forgets about the issues/events later on.

If a track is made on the website to manage these issues, they won’t be forgotten (or removed) from the website until they meet a satisfactory resolution.

Platform for honest officers to expose corrupt co-workers

• Many officers, in govt organisations would like to expose people in their department who are doing corruption.

• Mostly lower level officers are afraid in doing so.

• They will have to go and file a court case to stop that wrong doing.

• But with cases section it will be super easy for them by just providing exact information which can be traced by the large members of e-swaraj!

Page 18: Cases - the backbone of e-swaraj

Power of team work!

• Team work will speed up the process of finding facts, information etc relating to any case.

• It will speed up the overall process and bring results quickly even for difficult tasks!

Page 19: Cases - the backbone of e-swaraj

More exposure to small n big problems

• Some people complain why civil society only exposes bigger problems.

• Or why only exposes x issue and not y

• With an online platform all issues will be given equal importance. And equal exposure because of viral nature!

• People can themselves come forward and join the cause rather than criticizing.
