Leveling the playing field

CaseMap training for better pre-trial and trial work can help level the playing field between a small and opposing large firm Consultants helped a small firm learn to analyze data in CaseMap using custom searches and reports focused on case strengths and weaknesses

One document attached to multiple facts can be critical

Consultants helped a firm use a single document containing prescription records and linking it as a source for multiple facts The firm was able to create a timeline demonstrating that one of the opposing witnesses was abusing a controlled substance A seemingly innocuous record became fertile ground for cross-examination

Database triage

For another firm consultants corrected CaseMap field names repaired a database and advised the client on ways to proceed with data entry to optimize CaseMap features This was done without losing any of the data already entered

Different objectives

A firmrsquos initial training made it clear that users had a wide variety of technological skills responsibilities within the firm and requirements from CaseMap At a second training the group was broken into two sectionsmdashone for those who would primarily provide data entry and one for those who needed a more global view of what CaseMap could do
