This music has a narrative and this is a convention of indie music videos. In this video that narrative fit the song as it is sad.

There is also some relationship between the music and the visuals. This is another convention of indie music videos. Although video follows a narrative the video allows the audience in interpret it for themselves. This is the same for the song. Unlike pop music where the song simply has lyrics that have no underlying meaning indie leaves the song meaning open for debate.

The video is also performance based as the lead singer lip syncs throughout most the video.

Camera The main camera shots in this video are close up and and eye level shots. These help the audience connect with the narrative as close up’s to the face help reflect the feeling of the video

The video also includes some pan shots to help set the scene and show of the landscape of the video.

Editing

All of this music video is in reverse. This makes the video very unique. Indie music videos are often unique having very creative editing and shots.
