Design and usability are important matters in the light commercial market, but above all rates cost-efficiency. The refrigerators, freezers and coolers are always in use. This is why improved energy efficiency along with increasing environmental requirements is so essential to the business.

Secop did not specifically focus on wine coolers when developing the new XV5KX compressor. Although numerous tests in laboratories together with engineers and manufacturers and in ‘real life’ showed that it went very well with the newest demands within wine coolers. In fact, it was able to set a new standard both in performance and in energy savings.

XV VARIABLE SPEED = UP TO 70% ENERGY SAVINGSModern commercial wine coolers are in need of compressors that combine maximum performance and minimum consumption with temperature precision and low noise. In contrast to fixed compressors the XV5KX can match all this – and then some. First of all, it is able to adjust the supplied cooling capacity of the compressor to the needed cooling capacity of the cabinet by operating at different speeds.

This rules out the constant stop-and-go-motion and leads to a more balanced cooling temperature and reduces energy consumptions considerably. At the same time the Secop XV5KX compressor managed the same high performance as the fixed compressors but used 46% less energy. In fact, technicians could measure up to 70% energy savings at temperature settings for white wine.

BEST IN CLASS + BEST IN FITThe XV5KX compressor helped traditional wine coolers to take a best-in-class-leap from energy efficiency class ‘C to energy efficiency class ‘A and provided also considerable improvements on noise levels – an instrumental feature when choosing wine coolers. Furthermore, the compressor was able to demonstrate great flexibility. Due to its extreme small size and weight it only took minor adjustments to make the Secop compressor fit in with pre-existing cabinets. With the XV5KX it is now possible to reduce energy consumptions without the big design changes that everyone is used to.
