Lynwood Outreach and Admissions Office This week we visit Molly and Lee in Lynwood!
The Lynwood office is located in the Bentley Office
Center right next to the Lynnwood Transit Center. The
location makes it easy for prospective students to visit
the office anytime. Lynwood office staff are ready to
help prospective students, provide information ses-
sions, and help you navigate the enrollment process.
Molly Rhodes is a a recent college graduate who is originally
from Northamptonshire, England but has been in the United
States for almost twelve years. She came to Cascades be-
cause of her passion for education and social programs, so Job
Corps was the perfect fit. Molly loves recruiting for Job Corps
and showing the community our amazing program! In her free
time, she is part of the Lake Stevens Open Water Swimming Group, which
hosts polar plunges, long distance swims, and triathlons to raise money for
children sports equipment in Lake Stevens. Molly’s advice to any prospective
student is, “No dream is too big at Job Corps. Our instructors, counselors,
RAs, and other staff are all rooting for you and your success. If you can
dream it, you can do it!”
Lee Ruffin has been with Job Corps for many years. She
has worked for a handful of Centers around the United
States from Michigan to Hawaii to Ohio. Lee has held many
different positions including but not limited to Instructor, Ca-
reer Counselor, Career Transition Specialist, and her current
position of Outreach/Admissions Counselor. OA Manager
Desiree Bungay commented that, “Lee is an amazing individual who is cur-
rently working to complete her PhD, and will see her finish line very soon!
Lee is very passionate about education in her own life as well as for those
prospective youth that she works with.” Lee wants to make sure that students
know that Job Corps is a safe place and that she is someone they can trust
and depend on.”

WEATHERING WINTER
Time For a Meat-Up
Exeter management staff are suiting up for a potential partnership with Car-gill Manufacturing's North Kingstown plant. Center Director Adam “Beast” White, Deputy Center Director Nicole “Mystique” Trombly and OA/CTS Manager Brian “Quicksilver” Horton met with Cargill employees to discuss WBL and placement for processing and shipping meat. Cargill is in the process of expanding and needs staff to fill jobs as they increase their service to local grocery stores across New England. Our intrepid X-Men donned safety gear for a full tour of the facility so they could immerse them-selves in the opportunities Cargill offered for students.
Securing the Right Connections
Glenmont students are striving to become first in line in picks for first responder positions. Every Friday, Security/MILCAP students have participated in virtual meetings with various law enforcement organizations, including the Albany County Sheriff's Department and the Albany Mounted Police. Future meetings will host the New York State Troopers, Transportation Security Administration and Albany County Com-munication (EMS). Each virtual session explores different career paths for Security students. In addition, the Albany County Sheriff's Department recently joined Glenmont's Driver's Ed class to field questions about driver safety.
Jonesing for Career Upgrades
Keystone graduate Danielle Jones is set to graduate from Fortis College in Landover, MD after fortifying her Office Administration credentials. Danielle gradu-ated Keystone in January 2020 used what she learned from her trade to support her Medical Assistant Technician training at the college. A 2019 CSS Student of the Month, Danielle served as Keystone Student Government Association Execu-tive President, as well as on dorm leadership and mentorship roles. We congratu-late Danielle on her wonderful accomplishments and continued commitment to Cougar Pride!
A Message from Our President, Susan Sez
Insiders report that Gary Executive Center Director Lorraine Lane has been channeling her Joliet and Grafton Center experiences to help her staff fend off the unusually harsh winter weather in Texas. From modeling a proper toque to demonstrating effective snow shoveling techniques, Ms. Lane has ensured Gary slides through the situation. Should she need any extra assistance in this task I am confident that our New Hampshire pals, Center Director Tamer Koheil and Facilities Manager Art Penno, are more than ready to fire up some Google Classroom seminars on winter management. Remember, we are all in this together, no matter how far apart we are! #AdamsOneTeamOneGoal
