Graham Stookey took piano leSSonS aS a child,
but he truly found his calling when at age 13 he saw a show by
acoustic guitar master phil keaggy. “after that i decided i wanted
to play the guitar,” he remembers. “i enrolled in guitar lessons
from an excellent teacher, and my journey as a musician began.”
he began writing songs in his parents’ basement, and eventually
posted a video online of one of his originals—an event that led to
what he calls “the insanity that is now my life.” Within four months
“Jonah” had attracted more than 270,000 youtube viewers.
the attention earned him an appearance on The Oprah Winfrey
Show, during which he met and ably jammed with one of his idols,
lenny kravitz. Stookey recently released a digital-only four-song
ep, aptly dubbed The Basement Tracks, and is currently at work
on his full-length debut.

Joanna, emily and Becky roBertSon GreW up in the
midst of country music history. their parents, Barny and carter
robertson, were members of the late Waylon Jennings’ 1970s
band—he as keyboardist, she as backing vocalist. the sisters
themselves made their debut singing on Jennings’ 1993 kids’
album Cowboys, Sisters, Rascals & Dirt. “Waylon was a big part
of our lives,” Becky recalls. “We were inspired being surrounded
by so much music.” there was never much doubt that the three
of them would head to nashville and pursue a musical career of
their own. “We’ve always known this is what we were going to
do,” emily says. “it hasn’t ever been a matter of if, it’s always been
a matter of when.” their new six-song ep was co-produced by
country star toby keith, who signed them to his Show dog imprint.
“this is the real carter’s chord,” says Becky. “it’s the music we’ve
always wanted to make.”
