6. Questions 1.) I know you talked about taking the stairwell by the USO off the Area A section and transferring it to the

Area B Bid, thus changing the sq. ft. So the new sq. ft. I have calculated for Area A = 59,939 and Area B = 7731. Please see Number 3 and Number 4 above for the revised Area A and Area B square footages.

2.) For the background screening check, the cost is $85 per person, is there a number limit to contractors due to the long period of work over a 3 – 5 year period. No, the Service Provider can have as many employees as they choose to be badged over the span of the contract. The Service Provider shall be responsible for the collection and return of any badges for employees no longer working at the Airport or will be responsible for the applicable fees and/or fines.

3.) Is there a dress code requirement for contractors, more on the shirts, can a button up bowling style shirt be worn untucked. As stated in the RFP, “All personnel assigned to work at the Airport shall wear uniforms with the Service Providers company logo.” This attire should bear a professional look at all times.

Richland-Lexington Airport District 3 Addendum No. 1

4.) Does the airport allow shorts to be worn while working, spring, summer, fall. No, uniformed pants are to be worn by the Service Provider for this contract.

5.) If the prescribed spot cleaning and gum removal does not remove certain stains, who do we inform to have these carpet squares replaced. The point of contact for this service contract will be the Terminal and Contracts Manager, Tamie Head.

6.) What are the best hours for janitorial services for the airport. Janitorial services are currently being performed between the hours of 5:00 am until 11:30 pm seven (7) days a week.

7.) In the vacuuming procedures it does not specify detailed cleaning, will this be at the discretion of the contractor. i.e.: once per week or as needed. It will be the Service Providers responsibility to ensure detailed cleaning is performed as necessary to keep all areas free of all detectable soil, embedded grit, litter and spots.

8.) Are there any requirements by the airport for equipment used inside the building, electrical checks, indoor air quality, etc. The Airport reserves the right to inspect and approve any equipment used during this service contract.

9.) The scope sheet says “The Service Provider shall not use any spotting agents containing solvents as they can level residue that contributes to resoling and can possibly damage the carpet. “most gum removing agents have solvents. Are there recommendations from the manufacture. The following is Milliken Recommendation on Carpet Care: “Spot Cleaning - Spots and stains are one of the biggest detriments to high appearance levels. In order to maintain a consistent appearance level between periodic maintenance, it's critical that spots and stains be removed on a daily basis. In most cases, daily spotting is the responsibility of the janitorial or housekeeping staff. Milliken recommends the use of a Capture® Spot Kit for treating most spots, following these procedures:

1. Remove as much excess material as possible prior to spot removal. Blot up liquids with a clean white terry cloth, vacuum up soil and gently scrap up encrusted material.

2. Spray Capture Pre-mist onto a clean, white terry towel and work in gently. Do not scrub. Blot, absorbing as much of the spot into the towel as possible. Work from the outside edge of the spot into the center to prevent spreading.

3. Apply Capture dry carpet cleaner to the spot. Gently agitate with a brush, wait 30 mins. and vacuum.

Note: Milliken does not recommend using any spotting agents containing solvents as they can leave

residue that contributes to resoiling and can possibly damage the carpet.” The Service Provider shall accept liability for color loss or fiber damage due to the use of incorrect

cleaning solutions.

10.) Is there a copy of the warranty that we can read for the carpet and the specifications on cleaning pertaining to that warranty. Below is a link to Milliken Recommended Carpet Maintenance Procedures: http://corporateflooringsolutions.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Milliken-Carpet-Maintenance-Procedures-103008.pdf

11.) Last question, is there a start date for this contract. The provisional start date is April 3, 2017.
