Caron Leads the WayCaron Compactor Company

Caron Compactor was founded in the late 1960s after founder Fred Caron developed a self-propelled steel-wheeled soil and landll compactor which was later sold to Rexworks - the predecessor of Terex. From soil to landlls, Mr. Caron brought his knowledge of the dynamics of compaction to the solid waste disposal industry.

Although Fred Caron passed away in 1980, his legacy lives on as the company grew with his son Jim Caron as the President and CEO, later to be joined by his wife, Judy Caron, as Vice President of Administration. Caron Compactor is recognized throughout the world as an industry leader due to the introduction of compaction wheels with high-alloy, replaceable “Pin-On®” wheel caps. Caron Wheels with Pin-On® Teeth are today marketed internationally on a full range of Caterpillar landll compactors. Other landll products followed such as the Caron Double Semi-U® and Semi-U Trashblades, the Caron Transfer Station Wheel, vital axle and nal drive guarding, as well as specialized track shoes for both landll and transfer station applications.

Caron Compactor distributes solid waste products by way of equipment dealer representation and internationally through company representatives. The company maintains an extensive eld sales and product support network and enjoys a signicant market share of the landll compactor attachment market.

As environmental concerns increase, the economic benets of Caron products increase. Contact us for complete product information and performance evaluations for landlls like yours.

For Extended Life and Better Performance on all CAT Landll Compactors

Caron's self-cleaning wheels with patented Pin-On teeth minimize wheel plugging. Instead of blades or tampers, Caron compactor wheels are equipped with two types of specically designed teeth that clean themselves automatically as they compact.

Better compaction in fewer passes. Teeth and wheels remain free to chop, grind and compact a wider range of refuse without ung lightweight materials. Full penetration permits greater compaction density in less time. And rmly packed surfaces can reduce cover materials by as much as 30%.

The exclusive Caron design increases traction and aids stability. Caron wheels have two distinct teeth designs: (1) wedge-shaped for extra traction/ compaction and (2) contour-shaped to minimize side slippage and wheel spin and increase demolition capabilities – even on slopes and grades. The exclusive Pin-On Teeth have abrasion resistant caps that can be replaced right on the job.

A Revolution in Replacement Ease

No welding required. Caron Wheels with patented Pin-On Teeth feature caps that slide easily onto reusable bases and secure tightly with hammer-in pins. Fast in-eld replacement eliminates pre-heating, welding and many man hours of labor.

Our exclusive Cap Puller helps expedite the removal process and provides additional safety. See our instructional video at www.caroncompactor.com/safety

Caron Pin-On Teeth are cast to last with proprietary metallurgy for over a 500 Brinell rating as compared to the industry standard of 400 or less. Since Caron Pin-On Teeth are not welded directly to the wheel, increases in material hardness are possible, resulting in greatly increased wear from the replaceable wear caps. Bases and Wheels both oer a

limited 20,000 hour wear warranty. Visit our Eciency Calculator to see what a minimal savings in airspace can do to your bottom line: www.caroncompactor.com/buildyourown

The Caron Choice in Compaction

The Caron High Density 826C/G/H Wheel measures 40" in width as compared to the standard 47-1/4" Caron Wheel. The standard wheel for the CAT 836H measures 55" in width, the Caron High Density Wheel for the

836H measures 51”. While some operators rely on the higher production capabilities associated with the standard width wheels, others have found the narrower design oers greater density – placing the weight over a more concentrated area to increase compactive force and eectiveness.

Caron Trashblades For Compactors and Crawlers

Double Semi-U® Blade (DSU®)

Caron’s patented Double Semi-U Trashblade is designed to funnel trash under the compaction wheels or bulldozer tracks when spreading refuse to reduce the amount of loose material under the center of the machine. The unique center splitter helps break up piles of refuse left by compactor tracks and allows smaller compactors to strike loads head-on rather than from the side. Available for the CAT 816F/F2, CAT 826G/H, CAT 836G/H and future series compactors.

Solid Waste Track Shoes (SWS®) and Caron Double Semi-U and Semi-U Trashblades forLandll Crawlers

The Caron Double Semi-U or Caron Semi-U Trashblade helps make your landll crawler an even more versatile and ecient machine. The unique design of the blade forces refuse away from the center of the machine - directly into the path of the tracks where it can be compacted in fewer passes.

Caron Solid Waste Track Shoes combine top compaction eciency with a self-cleaning design for use in a wide range of dry and semi-solid materials. Higher grouser height and a thicker base plate make the Caron Solid Waste Shoe an extreme service performer with longer wear life. It has the capability to be regrousered. Available for the CAT D10R/T, D9R/T, D8R/T, D7R II, D7E and other CAT crawlers.

Caron Straight Blades

Up to 50% reduction in on-site demolition at transfer stations.

All Caron Transfer Station and Solid Waste Track Shoes are individually cast from high strength proprietary alloy steel to create an extreme service shoe for increased wear life – up to 3 times more than the competition. A unique self-cleaning design features a trapezoidal pass-through center to reduce clogging, and both horizontal and diagonal contact points for a smoother ride, less undercarriage vibration and increased life.

Caron Demolition and Solid Waste Track Shoes are currently available for most models of Track Loaders and Track-Type Crawlers.

Solid Waste Shoe

The Caron Solid Waste Track Shoe is designed to make short work of material reduction, to increase compaction in refuse, sludge and wet clay conditions – situations that are prevalent in landlls. The Solid Waste Track Shoe features split parallel grousers with trapezoidal self-cleaning holes that allow materials to break free and clean out more rapidly. The placement of the grousers helps contribute to a “scissoring” action that aids to preliminary material demolition.

Cast with a thicker base plate and taller grousers, the Solid Waste Track Shoe has over 40% more material than conventional shoes for up to three times more wear life and the ability to be regrousered.
